Kurt Warner Retires
Kurt Warner retires from NFL after 12 seasons
I really hate to see this guy go. He's been one of the league's best when he's the been the guy. He took two franchises that hadn't been to SB's in years/ever to the biggest game. He's elevated or lengthened careers of players who otherwise might not have continued to play. He made an MVP out of Marshall Faulk. Much respect and the game will miss you.

I like Warner
I’m not sure he should be a HoFer (i dont think stats should be a sole determiner, I think when I watch someone play they should have more ‘wow, he’s great’ than ‘wow, he looks old’ moment. Im not sure Warner met that criteria. But I like him better than Brett Favre. He seems like a great person.
The best part is I don’t have to hear how he’s an MVP candidate for the first 12 weeks of the season before the inevitable crash.
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly
Joseph Addai is a good running back.
Im a douchebag, an asshole, and I'm rarely right.

Hello, Ladies!
WHAT?!?!?!
12 seasons, 3 SB appearances, 1 SB MVP, 1 regular season MVP, not to mention countless stats…..
If anything, short of Favre, Manning, and Brady….how does this guy NOT make it?

do you want the stats version or the non-stats version?
the non-stats version is, and maybe this is my fault for not seeing him play more, but just the eye test, I saw him too many years where he looked below average. More games/years of below average than games/years of hall of fame. And injuries don’t count, imo, just ask Terrell Davis (spelling).
As for the stats version, I don’t remember the exact numbers, but Warner has a black hole in the middle of his career. Hall of Famers don’t have black holes in the middle of their careers.
Also, I think you could put any NFL-caliber starting QB with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin and that QB would have probowl level stats year in and year out.
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly

Hello, Ladies!
im not belittling people that disagree (for a change)
its just my opinion that he’s on the fence. I won’t be offended if he goes in.

about as close as you can come to riding off into the sunset without actually doing it
Kudos to Kurt. Congrats on an amazing career and an even more amazing story. When is the Disney movie?
Indianapolis Colts, taking focus away from my DBacks every Sunday.

Cool guy, he should keep playing.
Good luck to him.

Kurt Warner, after Colts players
is my most favorite player in the entire NFL. If not for Manning, I’d say Kurt has been the best QB in the NFL the past decade.
Warner, you will be dearly missed.
Good for you, Kurt.
Go out on your own terms. God Bless.

My thoughts exactly
Rather see this than him have a career ending injury take him away from the game!
Love Kurt
just not Hof material
As long as we have Peyton we will always have a chance to win.

If Warren Moon is in the Hof,
Kurt Warner should also be in for sure. Maybe not first ballot, but in for sure.
nope...
a few great years doesn’t make up for like 6 years of sucky. just read something like he was the full time starter only 6 years of his 12 year career.
Go Colts!

I don't see how Kurt is not a HOF if Moon and Fouts are
Sure, he’s not Manning, Brady, Montana status. And I wouldn’t vote for him first-ballot, but to me he’s easily a hall-of-famer. He took two decrepid franchises to the Super Bowl. He had two injury-plagued years in STL (2002-2003), but other than that, he’s been good even in his mid-career malaise (2004-2006). He was good in 2004 before the Giants went with Eli, and had a good year as well in 2005, or at least one better than is generally assumed. At his worst, he was Kerry Collins. At his best, he was Manning (yup, I said it). He’s a HOF.

Dude...
full time starter only 6 years. Plus his mid-career malaise was getting fired and then getting fired again and then getting fired again…
Go Colts!

Warner is most definitely HoF bound, and worthy
The only reason he wasn’t a starter for more than six years was because he was from a small college and wasn’t recognized for his greatness until another QB went down and he won a SB.
He’s been to three SB’s, won one, has been to it with two different teams (only one of two QBs to ever do that), and so on. Putting stats on here won’t change anybody’s mind, but Warner should be a first ballot HoF.
I bet he does get in...
but it isn’t right. There are players who play great their whole career not to get in, because they are offensive lineman or defensive linemen who just work the trenches. Warner had GREAT years, but that doesn’t mask the horrible ones too.
If/When he gets in, Ken Stabler will probably burn something down.

He had 2 horrible years
and three league average years (04-06), and 6 HoF worthy years (99-01 and 07-09). That is HoF worthy.

As for everyone using his “6 seasons” as an argument for why he shouldn’t be in…
Steven Young only played 8 full seasons and is considered one of the best of all time. Think about it. We’re not claiming Warner is an all-time great, all we’re saying is that Warner does deserve to be in at some point. I mean for crying out loud, go look at his playoff stats. He’s the best playoff QB in the history of the NFL. If they can’t get you in, I don’t know what will.
We’re not claiming Warner is an all-time great
how can you not claim he’s an all-time great, but then want him in the HoF? Thats the only group of people that should be in the HoF, imo.
For me, I don’t care that he only had 6 good seasons. I care that he had just as many bad seasons in between. Its not like a Steve Young or Terrell Davis situation where they were hall of famers over a short career (either due to injury or due to being in the USFL or whatever league young started in), he had an 11ish year career in the NFL and was mediocre or worse for almost half of it.
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly
