Minnesota Is Behind You

Hey, all. . .your old pal Gonzo from The Daily Norseman here.

I just wanted to wish you guys the best of luck next Sunday. . .darn shame that our team isn't lining up across from yours.  As a current resident of the Gulf Coast, there was a part of me that was all set to cheer for the Saints on Super Bowl Sunday, even though they'll be the underdog (and deservedly so).

But then, a day or two after the game, Saints' defensive coordinator Gregg Williams divulged his "if we don't injure somebody, we don't win" defensive philosophy that the Saints displayed last Sunday night.  I hope that he tries to employ the same crap next Sunday. . .not because I want to see Peyton Manning hurt, mind you, but because that garbage really has no chance of working against Indy.

If the Saints play the same game that they played against us in the NFCCG, you guys will win by at least three touchdowns.  Even if they play their "A game" next Sunday, you guys probably still win by three touchdowns.  Either way, the game should pretty much be over before Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend take the stage.

In any case, here's to a Colts' victory next weekend.  I think if you took a poll at our site, at least 80% of us are behind you on this one.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

NM read your posts on the Vikings board………..

Reading Comprehension is wonderful, I wish more people would learn to use it. As well not pick pieces and parts of an interview.

I can read and comprehend perfectly fine

Well enough to know that your defensive coordinator is a gutless coward that encourages his players to go out of their way to hurt people, in any case.

And where exactly did you get that from? Dude ya need to maybe take a break from the boards for a while. Your so damn bitter your gonna buy into anything anyone says negative about the team that beat your team. Especially coming from the person who is supposed to be the head honcho of the Vike’s board on here its very unbecoming. Just take a few weeks off to cool down, and come back with a little better perspective. I saw your post on the Saints board and it was very cordial, then I see you post this on here because of that interview where Greg Williams’ words were indeed twisted by PFT. I’m sorry ya feel that way and most likely no one can change your mind right now but hope you’ll consider what i’m saying.

If you want to point the blame for your loss

Why not point it at Favre?
His “senior moments” were classic and cost you the game.

Yep, that is true

Good for you guys.

Fortunately, the only thing that these next two weeks and all the hype is going to get you is the privilege of selecting one spot behind Minnesota in the 2010 NFL Draft. Nothing more.

13 of the 30 teams’ fan bases are cheering for us with the other 17 cheering for the Colts, so it’s not like it is a huge difference.

I’m glad Minnesota has left the Union to join Indiana. Going to be hard against America’s team.

Thanks, Gonzo.

So, for the Colts, we’ve now got the Vikings’, Jets’, and Dolphins’ fanbases behind us. Anyone see another fanbase on SBNation rooting for us?

My Very Bearsy Household is rooting for Colts

My husband was even kinda hopeful for the Saints before watching the means by which they defeated the Vikings. Now he wants to see the Saints go down hard.

Plus it makes the Colts/Bears superbowl hurt less if the Colts are proven to be an unstoppable juggernaut. :)

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

How refreshing!

Trying to experience the Superbowl by proxy?
Need the Colts to handle the business your team couldn’t handle for itself?
Shouldn’t you be getting ready for the Pro Bowl and Favre-watch?

Why would I want to experience

A three-touchdown ass-kicking? By proxy or otherwise?

Good luck trying to get those late, dirty hits in on Peyton Manning next week. By the time The Who are done performing, that’s probably all you’ll have to look forward to.

(And look forward to it, you will. And you know it.)

like the ass kicking the minnies were supposed to hand us?

“Dirty” is a word losers use. Note: Favre himself never claimed the game was “dirty”. I’ve gotta give the guy credit for continuing to get up after such elder abuse. Only whiny fans pull the “dirty” card. Grow a sack, like Favre, and take it like a man.

This is going to be a great Superbowl matchup. Great QB duel. Everybody in NOLA loves Peyton, and thus, the Colts to some degree. Of course, we have to root against our boy this time, but no hard feelings. Good luck.

Hey Gonzo, In the immortal words of Bartles & James....

Thank you for the support!!! I was hoping for the Vikes in SBXLIV. What a great matchup that’d be. Best of luck to the Vikes next year, we might just see each other in SBXLV!!!

GO COLTS!!!

P.S. I like your 3 TD game winning spread!!!

Everyone seems to forget that we have an actual O-Line.

An O Line that allowed only 10 sacks on Peyton. I have a feeling that they will have something to say about this topic. Go ahead, get the late hits, take the penalties. Peyton can take a hit. Has everyone forgotten we have 11 players on the offense, not just 1?

This subject has been beaten like a dead horse. Enough already.

I agree you have a very good Oline

And anyone who thinks were going tpo get to Peyton like we got to Kurt and Brett are kiding themselves
With all that said if the Vikes didnt want us to get to Brett they should have kept our Dline out of their backfield

by mississippisaintsfan on Jan 31, 2010 10:28 AM EST up reply actions

Get your Dline out of their backfield

Thanks for stating the obvious. Like PTB said our Oline is built on pass protection. 5 guys will stop whatever the Saints throw at them and if one of them gets by three things will happen:

1. The ball will already be gone because of Peyton’s quick release.
2. Peyton will slide instead of taking a vicious hit.
3. Peyton will take the hit, get back up, and throw some quick passes to throw the D off.

Brett Favre = gunslinger while Peyton Manning = Machine

I really havent laughed at either

I find the whole “New Orleans deserves it” crap pretty damn annoying. And that ducktape moron is too dumb to laugh it. I might laugh if I could actually make some sense out of what he is commenting.

as something not worth getting up in arms over. might as well embrace the lunacy in our midst and have some fun.

By the way

I know we spoke a little bit over at CSC, but I doubt I’ll be doing much talking over there cause I guess I’m walking on thin ice. I had the word “Mother Fucker” in my sig line and your fearless leader warned me. Cause one of CSC’s faithful pointed it out and said it in a comment so I would purposefully get warned/banned. So, if your ever over here and there’s an open thread, you’re more than welcome to stop in. We don’t give a flying fuck about cursing over here. Lol. So this is where I will be doing most of my talking.

/and yes your fearless leader inspired my new and improved sig line lmao
