Agreed
The 35 is like double the size of the 24 in 2008.
On a side note am I the only one who thinks Freeney cleans up pretty good and puts together an eloquent conversation with a news reporter? I’d love to have him be an “analyst” once he decides to hang ’em up. He has to be better than Emmit Smith.

Glad someone mentioned that graph
It is ridiculous. Talk about someone trying to sensationalize the situation.

I continue to by impressed
Freeney is not only well-spoken and eloquent, he clearly has thought about these very serious issues that involve the essence of football, and is not afraid to be honest about how the game works. This game is what it is, and if that’s not ok, change the game, but Dwight does a very nice job of stating what will change with it.
What next?
Flag or two hand touch? Start fining RB’s leading with their helmet going through the line of scrimmage? This is a violent dangerous sport, that’s why players make millions of dollars to take the risk of serious injury. They are not forced to play. Any player that decides the risk out-ways the reward has the choice not to play.
There are other injures that can be just as serious as concussions such as paralysis, and even a slight chance of death.
The only way to eliminate injury is to do away with football. An unacceptable solution for fans, owners, and the players themselves.
I understand and agree with the need for rules to try to minimize injury, but to make it almost illegal to tackle is a joke.
Sorry for the rant.
