Reading this story got my mid-morning mind-gears turning. Lets say hypothetically that Peyton wins and MVP trophy or two in his stellar career, would it be out of the question for the NFL to rename the MVP trophy after him? This probably would not happen for some time after he is retired (or possibly dead) but I think it has a legitimate shot. We've go the Lombardi already, and in college we have the Heisman. Nobody calls the best play in college the MVP, they are a Heisman candidate. You don't win the Super Bowl trophy, it's the Lombardi trophy. I think in the distant future they could be refering to it as the Manning, or since there were three Mannings who played, they Peyton.
