This loss hurts, no question. Peyton threw 4 picks, Reggie dropped the ball multiple times, and we might have lost some players for a period of time, but there is reason for hope.
If you go back in football history, you see almost every SB winning team, or even just playoff teams, went through adversity. All of them but one lost games because of it, and that was of course the '72 Dolphins, and they even went through it, losing their #1 QB. But that's what makes this great.
Now this post isn't to praise the '72 fins or any other SB winning team, it's to remind everyone why we can still do this, and acomplish our gold of getting another ring. We can do it, there is no doubt in my mind. Now some of you might say this was a crushing defeat, and we are too demoralized after this to do anything, but if you go back in history, just even the '06 Colts who won the SB, we had the worst run d in the league by far. After the JAX game, I can't ever remember hearing one person say, we can win the SB. But hey, look at what happened.
The '06 Colts were injury plagued too. Sanders was well... Sanders, Stokely was out for the season, we just lost one of the best RB's in Colts history, we had no idea who were our DT's, Doss was hurt(granted Bethea was there, but he was just pretty much average then), our corners were diminished, our OL wasn't the healthiest, and question marks everywhere. The '10 Colts are very similar.
We have 21 people on IR, and 13 players who regurally help us were injured. Here is where this long and winded article has a bright side. Addai is getting close to returning, and Hart might actually be able to play next. Collie might return from his concussion in the next week or two. Sanders is coming back soon, Brackett hopefully soon, probably a broken toe, and it sounds rediculous to not play, but from personal experience, any toe you break throws you off completly. Session might be back soon, depends if he can tough it out, Tryon also soon. Almost all of our problems relate back to injuries, and how they are killing us. All we need to do, is JAX to lose a game that we win, and we're golden. If we're healthy and make it into the playoffs, we are a team no one wants to face.
