The Indianapolis Colts released an unusual announcement today about how they're dealing with the injuries that are piling up on their offense.

"Indianapolis Colts OG-Jacques McClendon will wear jersey number 80 at Philadelphia this Sunday and will be listed as a tight end," read the one-sentence press release issued by the Colts' PR department.

The 324-pound McClendon certainly can't fill the void left by the injured Dallas Clark. McClendon won't be catching any deep balls from Peyton Manning, and he might not even be active for Sunday's game against the Eagles. But the move is the latest demonstration of how much injuries are affecting the Colts' roster this season.

Michael David Smith continues the documentation of the most absurd injury streak in franchise history.

Should improve our goal line run blocking!

They have that Tennessee connection...

I’m sure he’s casually had a few receiving drills with him in practice.

No Brody Eldridge

My guess is this means no Brody Eldridge on Sunday.

Yup.

That would seem to be the indication.

Fantasy Implications

Is there going to be a rush on McClendon in fantasy leagues like there was on Tamme?

Will McClendon even be listed in time in most fantasy leagues at a TE?

Do anyone really give a shit about McClendon and fantasy football?

A smart move

This allows them to have 6 OLinemen on the field in some situations. Should help the run game.

Pretty soon the team's gonna have to hold fan tryouts

like Mark Wahlberg in Invincible…..except it won’t suck. Peyton could blindly pick a group of fans of any gender and turn them all into pro bowlers. I feel like I have as good a shot as anyone. Seriously, though this is getting absurd. I’m afraid to wear any Colts gear outside of my house in fear of getting hit by a car or being stricken with swine flu.

@npb1985

LOL, I’ll try out for WR but I prefer FS, Im good at KR too, but if the Saints would’ve lost SB44, I would have lost my life. Tracy Porter saved my life that night, but a Colts victory would have been a great way to share my last moments LOL

Yeah?

Well I don’t like your hat!…….that’s not true, I’m just frustrated. It’s a great hat.

Gonzo!

Just read that Gonzo has been IR’d for the season. Looks like it might have been his last game with the Colts. At least he made a spectacular catch which contributed to the win!
