#Colts have waived CB Deshea Townsend and RB Andre Brown. No word on roster additions for those spots.
...
Expectation is for #Colts to promote WR Chris Brooks from practice squad.
...
#Colts rule out WR Austin Collie (concussion), S Bob Sanders (biceps) for Sunday. DT Antonio Johnson (knee) will do on-field work this week.

Either...
The Colts are getting both Powers and Tryon back (making Townsend expendable) or the Colts are looking to sign another DB (Al Harris?)

C. Brown was already playing this last week.
And this move still clears two spots. Could mean what Collin mentioned, maybe a signing of Harris, maybe Tryon/Powers are ready to return — maybe both.
Or, this could also mean either Addai/Hart is ready to go.

Maybe they will take another WR. Are there any good ones out there? Just joking, by
this point they may have to sign a very large defensive player for receiver.
Shocked it was Townsend
and not Fransisco getting let go. I’m quietly holding hope that Fransisco still gets the axe this week, or at least a demotion.
If the Colts think teams won’t start to seriously pick on him after that performance, they have it coming.
I'd like to see Mike Newton get a chance.
He’s small but physical and has some ball skills.

I agree completely
He could provide some better ball-hawking in the secondary and allow Bethea to maybe concentrate a little more on stopping the run. Just about every other player on the roster has had an opportunity.

Francisco
Sadly he is our best option. He missed a tackle that would have sacked Vick on a third down that turned into a huge gain for Vick

lol I keep replaying that play in my head
because Fransisco had a chance to make a tackle… instead he got man-handled by an lineman’s one-handed shove. It was pathetic.
If the team is willing to sit Wheeler for Angerer, they need to be willing to sit Fransisco for Newton. I cannot agree that continuing to play Fransisco is their best option.

EXACTLY
How in the world to they cut Townsend and let Fransisco stay?
I don’t get it – Fransisco SUCKS – I am sorry but I have watched and rewatched – this dude is a LIABILITY.
He tackles like a girl and can’t cover shit.
I am starting to get worried – but JEEZ they have to be getting ready to sign someone right????
I will be overly optimistic that the brass of the Colts really believe that there is a chance – #21 making a comeback SOON.
We can’t win against high caliber offenses with Franny in the backfield – it’s just not going to happen.
I can wish and hope all that I want – but the dude is not a staring safety – period.
Why do peole keep talking about Al Harris?
Besides his age, he’s also still rehabbing from serious injuries. Sure, he was once a great CB but IMHO he’s now Townsend with a bad knee.
Sounds like good news for Addai, Powers, and Tryon
Hopefully Mookie will be better with his knee fixed up
Just taking a guess.
I agree with you, but the timing is curious.

Good move on waiving Townsend
He is a shell of his former self. Explains why the Steelers let him go.
Too bad...
Jerraud Powers assured that the DBs were very grateful to have Townsend onboard because he was a great teacher. But I agree. He’s better off being a coach at this point in his career. Was a very good corner, wish him the best from here on out. Can’t argue that his declining play didn’t factor into the loss on Sunday though.

Cornelius Brown
Cornelius Brown? Give me a break. Time to take a chance on Brandon James
the overlooked good news is that Mookie is doing workouts again
he just had surgery on his knee like three weeks ago, during the bye.
