What Indianapolis Should Think About Doing

There's no question that the Colts are one of the finest franchises in the NFL.

I love to watch Peyton and the offense to their thing all the time.

The only knock I have on the offense is that I wish we would have more of a run game.

No suprise to any of you, because I'm sure you all would want to see more of a run game as well.

Overall, though we are all quite happy with our offense (on most occasions).

What we should do with our defense after the jump.

The Colts have some great defensive players.

Sanders( when healthy), Freeney and Mathis(best DE duo in the game),  Bethea, and some solid young corners.

We have a good core group of guys, but sometimes I feel like I wish we had some different LBs, and some DTs.

You guys will hate me for this, but I personally am not a big Gary Brackett fan.

Yeah he's very smart and a sure tackler, but he seems to have some injury problems, and really lacks a physical presence that I've been craving for quite some time.

In all honesty my favorite linebacker would be Clint Session.

He makes mistakes but who doesn't, not to mention he is fairly young. He packs a punch on contact and I feel like he just flies around out there.

This whole post really is about what Indy should do. Screw the system. Get bigger on defense, draft some physical players, and make a name for yourself.

Don't sit back and give the QB all day to throw. Mix it up! Blitz a little bit. Notice on fourth down we are very strong. Why? Cause just about everytime we bring pressure it seems to work for us.

We need to get bigger with our DTs and bigger with our LBs.

I want this Colts team to be known as a physical presence who will get after you, and make you pay on any given down.

Granted, this goes against everything that Indy believes about defense.

Speed is fine and dandy, but we aren't trying to play midget football out there.

Criticize me as you wish, but all I'm really saying is Indy needs to do something.

Our defense is atrocious and if they want to have the ability to stop the run, even just a little bit better we must get bigger, get physical, play fast, play hard, and get back to basics. TACKLE the damn ball carrier please!!!

Not to mention. Stopping the run means an easier job to stop the pass.

Playing better D, means playing better O.

Playing better in all three phases in a game equals a win.

I don't mean to bash anybody I just want people to know that who we have clearly isn't working.

Play the injury card sure...but we were never really that great on defense anyway.

I will enjoy all of you complaining about this post, but think about it just for a minute before you leave a comment.
