Peyton needs speed and leverage to help fix Colt's problems

I'll keep this short because this is one of a plethora of ideas out there for how to correct the Colt's recent problems.

Peyton needs speed.  Put another way, he needs a receiver who not only has good hands but can get off the line fast and make quick moves downfield to command double coverage and open up the underneath routes.  Speed and quickness, with good hands is essential.  One without the others puts us where we are now and is something we haven't had since MH was here.  I think this alone will open up the offense tremendously.

Is this type of player more important than a LT or DT?  Absolutely not!  These two tackles will do more for improving our two most glaring issues we need in Dec and beyond - improving the run on offense and stopping the run on defense.  But fast and quick receivers can be had rounds 2 and higher and totally change the dynamics of an offense- just look at DeSean Jackson for the Eagles and Mike Wallace for the Steelers.  Without those two their offense pretty much becomes one dimensional.

Another question I thought I would raise is I wonder if the reason Peyton did not sign his contract is he plans to force the Colts to make the changes he feels the team needs.  I think this is how marquee players use leverage to get what they want.  With Peyton I don't think he is looking for more $, I think he is looking for players who can help him win a few more championships.  Let's be honest the Polians haven't exactly done a great job drafting lately.  And Bill has a giant ego and will not concede his mistakes.

Go Colts!  Let the debate begin. . .
