Injured Colts players could form nearly an entire new team....

So let's see how many players were injured during the year and missed at least ONE game or are currently on I.R. and see if we can get an entire starting offense and defense out of it...

Offense :

QB - None (though Peyton sure is playing like he's injured)
RB - Joseph Addai, Mike Hart, Donald Brown
TE - Dallas Clark, Brody Eldridge
WR - Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie, Anthony Gonzalez, Blair White
OL - Charlie Johnson

Defense :

DL - Daniel Muir, Fili Moala, Antonio Johnson
LB - Gary Brackett, Clint Session
CB - Jerraud Powers, Justin Tryon, Kelvin Hayden, Kevin Thomas
S - Bob Sanders, Melvin Bullitt, Jamie Silva

Now this is just off the top of my head. I'm sure if I actually Googled some of this stuff I'd find even more.

I'm not naive enough to think a team shouldn't have any injuries, but this is f'n insane. I've never seen any team in the NFL, EVER, decimated by this many injuries to starting, pro bowl worthy talent and/or promising rookies.

Ironically, the offensive line is probably the least injured "unit" of guys this year and they're playing the worst.

But hey, their window is closing and Peyton has lost it and blah blah blah. Next year if we stay healthy, with the development of guys like White and Tamme and Connor and Angerer, we'll be a legit Superbowl contender again. I'm just shocked we haven't had an off year since 2001 - most franchises go through a year of being "down" and can bounce back.

This Colts team is starting to look like the preseason Colts team, with so many 3rd stringers and practice squad guys out there, and we all know what happened to the Colts this preseason (and every preseason, really, showing how little depth they really have).
