Top 5 reasons to hate the Saints, and Love the Colts.

ahhh.

For anyone who has read any of my long, boring, and annoying posts, you know that i, hate the New Orleans Saints. I Simply dislike them. And this Superbowl has given me reason to release my hatred, and i know my TV will get it for every yard they gain. So i figured, to get it out of me, and to let it out on a site where people agree with me, i need to blog!!!

So here they are, my top 5 reasons to hate the New Orleans Saints.

1.Everyone gives them sympathy and support because of Katrina. Natural Disasters have nothing to do with sports. Hundreds of people die everyday of old age, accidents and anything else. Its too bad there arent 32 trophies to give out or people would be bitching for UFL teams to get one too!

2.Drew Brees. Everyone gives him extra credit for being short and undersized. And that he had to work harder to get here. Umm. Is is Peyton's fault he's 6'5"? No. Is it his fault that he has worked his ass off for 20 years to get here? No. Drew Brees is my most hated player in the whole league.

3.Sean Peyton. - Is it just me or does this guy wear mascara? Ahhh i hate him so much too. He is a decent coach at best. I just feel that the players look up to and respect Brees more. And thats sad seeing as Brees has only been good for 2 years. Look at Caldwell. He has earned Indy's respect after just 1 year of being a HC, and Manning looks up to/respects him. Thats the greatest quarterback of all time here folks.

4. Cheesy signs. Wow. i hate these the most.... Signs like "with Drew, Winning games is a Brees." Wow.. seriously? Go Home. Leave cheesy signs for gay sports like baseball or cricket.

5. Reggie Bush. I dont follow College football, but i do hate USC. USC(to me) is like the Patriots and Yankees. Few people are true fans. They're just douchey teams that succeed and draw in more bandwagon fans than anyone else. And Bush came out of here, and so far has been a bust. You might say- Hey! Hes a great special teams player and a good RB! Okay, heres what i say. He was a Heisman winner and top 5(correct me if im wrong please =]) draft pick. And in 3 or 4 years he cant even start at RB for a pass based team? When Duece played i understood him being a backup. Now its sad that hes just an "explosive" player and not a starter.

Wow. im glad to get that out. But now onto a better topic. Top 5 reasons to Love the COLTS!

1. #18.  'nuff said.

2.No trash talk. No idiots. No people who let their mouths run. This is a team who will shut up in front of the press outside of modest comments. Wont cause issues with teamates, or call out coaches. This is a team, full of superstars, and they all ,in truth, do more talking than every other team combined. Except they do their talking on the scoreboard and win column.

3. Our wide recievers.Wayne, Clark, Frenchie, Morman, and even Santi. A lot of these guys are quiet, and come here and blow up. These guys dont talk smack or celebrate(see #2) they just get the job done. And they all work hard, produce nice plays and HUSTLE. Oh and they make # 18 look good, and he returns the favor(see #1)

4.Peyton Manning(see #1)

5.They're not the Saints.

Some of these i didnt put much thought into, im simply writing I even tried to put in some funny things, but my sense of humor is something thats harder to decode or understand that gibbrish.  If i were to put real, true reasons why i love Indy, i would lose the, what 2 readers i still have? Unless you guys are into 500 page novels.

Well post away, comment, what are your top 5 reasons to hate the Saints or love INNDYY

I would love to be able to answer ‘The Colts’

I have a strong feeling that one of the teams is gonna get blown out of the stadium, and I’m really hoping it’s not a Freeney-less Colts.

I refuse to stoop to their improper grammar levels.

I would prefer a picture where Peyton Cass’s them and then answers in a complete sentence.

Or something that says “I’m Dat and a Bag of Cajun Chips.”

I deserve a Super Bowl because karma knows that I've suffered enough and that it is my fate and destiny and that I'm due on the 7th of February. I'm indeed naming him Lombardi.

Speaking of Cassing people,

it’s Cass’, not Cass’s. Anyone whose last name ends in s (which mine doesn’t) could tell you that one.

by Cassieper on Feb 3, 2010 4:36 PM EST up reply actions

That's incorrect.

You can use a ’s after a singular noun that ends with a s if it sounds better with a ’s. The general rule is to actually use the ’s. And if you were writing using certain writing guides like the MLA, you would always use ’s (except with plural nouns that end with a s obviously) even if it makes the pronunciation weird.

That's why I said I'll have to think about it.

I always seem to get confused about that particular set of rules.

by Cassieper on Feb 3, 2010 5:45 PM EST up reply actions

When in doubt, let me correct myself.

I keed. The writing style guide that my work requires us to use uses ‘s without being concerned about pronunciation, so I usually tend to follow that. But I wouldn’t say Moses’s or Socrates’s out loud. I think you stay away from the ’s if it ends in an “us” sound or an “es” sound, but usually add it with an “as” sound like your name. If I were to say your name out loud it would sound like Cass-es, thus I would add it. If that makes sense.

I deserve a Super Bowl because karma knows that I've suffered enough and that it is my fate and destiny and that I'm due on the 7th of February. I'm indeed naming him Lombardi.

You can't hate on Brees!

1. He’s from Purdue
2. It’s not his fault that he was born short and he has also worked his ass off to get where he is. (He’s no Peyton but still a really accurate passer)
3. He’s a good role model. He isn’t a cocky sunofabiztch but a person that is heavily involved in his own charities and is humble.
4. He kicked the crap out of the Patriots.
5. He’s DREW BREEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

That’s enough reason to dislike him.

He is a great QB, though.

2. It is his fault for not eating his vegetables
3. He wears a beret like a little ******
4. Gotta agree with u on that one. Patriots do suck.

My thoughts

About the Saints:
1. I agree. But, for the media, its just a nice story. Imagine if Haiti was in South Africa for the World Cup. Everyone would be cheering for them. However, those are wrong reasons. Sounds like pity but that’s how it is.
2. I respect Drew Brees. His size and everything have nothing to do with it, but he really is a good QB. I can’t believe he is your most hated player when there are guys like Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Brett Favre, Chris Johnson, T.O. or Tim Jennings.
3. Mascara? LOL. I agree
4. Totally agree, specially about gay sports like baseball.
5. I like Bush, and I like USCs uniform. I’m not a fan or anything since Dirty Sanchez comes from USC and I hate him. Bush was a disappointment indeed, I expected so much more about him but, probably he could do better in some other team (he ain’t happy in NO, probably sick of all those cheesy signs). He is a heck of an athlete and has some very nice plays on his career.

I also dislike the Saints

In the way they carry themselves they’re the anti-Colts. I can’t stand the way they dance around and trash talk when they limit a team to a 4 yard run like they just won the super bowl. I mean, seriously, just shut up and play football. I’m looking forward to watching Peyton catch them celebrating a few times for free plays.

There are tons of Colts jerseys at Charger games!

The last game I attended, I was in a sea of Colts blue…unfortunately I was wearing a Hefty bag since it was raining, but I was still stoked that my section was predominantly pro-Colts.

That was a horrible night though. You remember…Manning throws six interceptions, Freeney hobbles off with a broken foot, and Vinatieri misses two very close field goals that would have been the difference. It still haunts me.

Maybe the media feels geniunely bad for New Orleans natives

Because Hurricane Katrina was a pretty devastating natural disaster?

I’m sorry you didn’t have family and friends die on the side of the fucking road. I’m sorry you didn’t have strangers put their coats on your family and friends to cover up the stench and at least let the dead retain some dignity. Maybe if Indy experienced a natural disaster on a level and scale comparable to that of Katrina we could bitch and moan about the media coverage you receive as well. Oh, that’s right, we wouldn’t do that, because we have perspective.

But what do I know, eh? I’m a stupid Saints fan and the media is giving us a free pass because they feel sorry for us.

I’m sick of hearing about Katrina, and I’m sick of hearing about dumb cunts speak of things they know nothing of.

"I definitely believe in destiny, and I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We have been on the other side of this deal probably too many times. Maybe it's our time that we start catching some of the breaks, and start being the team that wins them like this in the end." -- Drew Brees

You're sick of hearing about Katrina

but your post consisted of complaining about how devastating Katrina was… interesting.

Here’s food for thought, this is football, this is the Super Bowl. Sorry about the natural disaster that took place there but just because it happened doesn’t mean that the Saints have better fans or that if the Saints win their fans or city gains more… because in the end it’s all the same.

by NYKings on Feb 3, 2010 9:46 PM EST up reply actions

I'm sick of hearing about Katrina

In regards to dumbasses like you spouting off witless rhetoric revolving around how it’s “time to move on” and “be a big boy” and "stop grieving because you lost friends and family who couldn’t leave the city because I-10 was jampacked.

That’s what I’m sick of hearing about.

If it were up to me, I’d leave Katrina out of everything. I don’t want to media to talk about it in all honesty, but for pricks like you and the OP to talk about how it’s our fault the media continues to bring it up is rediculous.

You hate the Saints because the MSM feels sorry for us? That’s just stupid.

"I definitely believe in destiny, and I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We have been on the other side of this deal probably too many times. Pricks like me?

What in the blue hell did I say about Katrina besides that you were talking about it and I also never said I hate the Saints? Apparently you don’t know how to read or you’re making assumptions. Next time make sure you actually get the facts straight before the shit starts spewing from your mouth.

by NYKings on Feb 3, 2010 10:08 PM EST up reply actions

Oh come on, get over it

Every single day there’s a major disaster in any corner of the Earth, and you still wanna complain about something that happened 4, 5 years ago? Fuck the media if they want a redemption given by the Saints players; we’re not obligated to love or hate your team due to a natural event that eventually devastated New Orleans and had them experiencing the same thing millions of people in Asia or Africa suffers year after year

Most of us here are already sick of this bullshit about the Saints deserving to win this title due to Katrina. If they’re going to win, is because they were a better team on the field at that moment, and not due to a “Divine intervention” or something alike. Well, I don’t believe the Saints are gonna win, since your players are partying at night while ours are sleeping, studing and doing good stuff

Quitters never win, but cheaters sometimes do

by trOOly on Feb 4, 2010 8:22 AM EST up reply actions

You can't really use that argument

Is it fair to tell me to get over a natural disaster because it happens all over the world “in any corner of the Earth?” Not a fair or accurate comparison in my book.

Does a natural disaster happen every day in New Orleans? You’re minimizing the severity of a traumatic accident because you had nothing invested in said event. It’s not your fault you’re ignorant, but a little compassion never hurt anyone.

I’m not asking you to feel sorry for me or my team, but I am asking you to be respectful and not cross certain boundaries. You might feel that Katrina happened far enough in the past that it’s time for me to move on, but did you lose two close friends and an elderly grandmother who was abandoned on the side of the road by her caretaker because she was slowing them down as they tried to evacuate?

It’s not really something you ever get over, tr00ly. Ever.

All I ask for is for people to be mindful of what comes out of their mouth, and consequently, be mindful of the feelings of others. Yes, I’m quite aware this is your blog, and I’m quite aware this is “teh internets,” but that doesn’t mean we have to suspend human decency. I’m not asking you to gasp be politically correct or gasp liberal. Just try to be more conscious of other people’s feelings, especially when it comes to things such as natural disasters.

Then again, I’m living in Jakarta now, so since flooding here happens often, maybe I’ll be wiped off the face of the Earth and you won’t have to listen to my senseless drivel anymore. We can only dream, right? [/sarcasm]

One last comment before I jump ship and leave this thread for good:

The media likes a good story. We’re just as sick of hearing about how the Saints deserve this title because of Katrina just as much as you guys. The MSM minimizes the true severity of the aforementioned event, yet in a different way. I think the Saints are deserving of a title, though for different reasons. I think they are deserving because they are a great team and have worked hard. I’m sure we can both agree that we feel our respective teams are deserving.

"I definitely believe in destiny, and I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We have been on the other side of this deal probably too many times. Maybe it's our time that we start catching some of the breaks, and start being the team that wins them like this in the end." -- Drew Brees

by J of the F on Feb 4, 2010 7:07 PM EST up reply actions

I realize that the media has used Katrina as a focal point, and for that the people of New Orleans hate it. However, it is out there and we would like to keep it to football if possible.

Having said that, I do think that you guys are making it very personal, and I think you need to understand that the words that you say are starting to hit nerves in people that you will never understand. There was a lot of tragedy that people had to deal with. Some people lost family and friends. Some people lost their homes, or stared at gutted out homes for months or years. We had to hear hurtful things from Bears fans during the ’06 NFC Championship game, and that was only 1 year. I guess I felt that Colts fans were a bit more classy than that. I realize it is not the whole as a group, but the guy that started this thread is one of them.

I just saw a picture created by a Colt fan that depicted hurricane Katrina with a Colt logo in the middle heading for New Orleans. I think that is of poor taste. I just hope that you guys never have to deal with a situation like Katrina. I would not wish that amount of daily heartache on anyone. That is why the people here are so sympathetic for the people of Haiti. We don’t want your pity. We don’t need the country to stand behind us for the Superbowl. We want the Superbowl as much as you guys do because it is the fricking Superbowl.

I will admit that the we also want it because of Katrina. Not for pity, but because it will show the world that we are back. We hope that this will stop the Katrina talk. Instead, we hope that people talk about how good our football team plays. Please keep the Katrina-bashing down.

by mb76 on Feb 3, 2010 10:27 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

Well said.

I cringe when ever I hear the media continue to bring up Katrina. I want to talk about and enjoy the best Saints team in 43 years. Having said that I would also like to take a shot at explaining the response that some remarks about this storm bring from those of us who were affected by it.
If you didn’t live it , you can’t imagine the loss of family and comunity. The struggles imidately after and till this day. Honestly. I know I couldn’t have pre Katrina. Saints football is a place that this Who Dat and many more retreat to a few hours a week a few months a year. Then when someone drags us back to that dark place we re-act strongly. Just say’n. Now. Are we ready for some frig’n Saints/Colts football ? Geaux Saints

by saints-fan-in-miss on Feb 5, 2010 3:34 PM EST up reply actions

Media should only focus that it is a game between two of the best teams in the NFL this year

If both sides hate talking about Katrina then we should just stop the nonsense. Colts fans hate hearing about Katrina because people use it as a sympythy card to root for the Saints. I cant speak for Saints fans but if i had to guess they just want the media to focus on how good the Saints team is and how they reached their first superbowl in 43 years. So changing the subject I hope that this game turns out to be one of the greatest superbowls ever.

by IndyWhatWhat on Feb 4, 2010 3:25 PM EST reply actions

We can't control why people choose to cheer for a superbowl team

They throw their temporary support behind a team for a myriad of non football reasons. I guess some people that aren’t a fan of either team may choose the saints because of Katrina. Nothing wrong with that. My wife always cheers for the best looking QB each year. Too bad for her, it’s slim pickings this year (not to mention I’d divorce her if she cheered against the saints). Either way don’t get too insulted by it.

I'll give you my #1

Because the defense plays dirty. Period. Gregg Williams has come out with “we play nasty, not dirty.” I’d love to know the distinction, coach. I would say that 4 — count ‘em, 4 — fines totaling $30K assessed to the Saints defense and special teams after the Vikings game would tilt the balance toward “dirty” and I don’t know how you can possibly argue otherwise.

I love the city and people of New Orleans (my favorite place in the States to visit) and before the champ game I would have been behind them 100% if they beat my Vikings and made it to the Super Bowl. But the plainly dirty play made that impossible for me.

Anyone think it’s only a coincidence that coach Williams learned at the knee of Buddy Ryan who put bounties on his opponents for his defense? Please.

Keep in mind, I really can’t stand Favre anymore, k? I was actually feeling badly for him. And I was a little shocked to see the Saints play that way. Kinda reminded me of the old Raiders, tbh.
