Colts Considering a Offensive Line Philosophy Change
With Howard Mudd hanging it up, maybe there's a change we go after some more physical road grading guards. Perhaps that's what Jaimie Thomas was training to be all this time. Although, I would think Diem would need to switch from Tackle to Guard and Charlie Johnson would obviously not be the long term solution at LT.
We'll see.

Eh... the story is a little tenuous
The “team insider” may indeed be correct, but a lot of that piece reads as the author’s interpretation. Remember the direct quote from the insider: “They’ve brought in bigger linemen before, but for whatever reason, they just haven’t seemed to pan out.” That seems to indicate an inability to properly judge larger, less athletic players, which would be a brake on them suddenly changing philosophy.
Personally, I want to see this happen. I’m sick of seeing Addai and Brown get stuffed in the backfield. But there are tons of factors to judge, not the least of which being that pass protection will always be the priority. Will going bigger benefit pass blocking as well? If so, this might happen; if not, forget it.
We’ll see. I’d like to see the O-line grow monstrously bigger, but at the same time, I don’t want to see it happen at the cost of regression in other areas. Remember that athleticism is needed; anyone remember the reams of problems Jonathan Ogden had with Freeney rushing on him? Bigger doesn’t always equal better protection.

peyton doesnt get hit often so i dont think that the Colts need a change in philosphy...
they just need better players…i mean with a high draft pick that could send CJ (a hard worker who seems to be putting in the hours to be a starter) somewhere else where he would be an improvement , would do wonders for the team. just adding more talent could make a big difference. imagine the announcers not bring up that the Colts were 31st in rushing every other down
