The days of seeing him looking sad on the bench at the end of Chargers playoff games are over

I don’t think Tomlinson has much left in the tank, I wonder if he will accept a secondary role on a contender for a shot at a ring or if he’ll go the Emmitt Smith route and try to be a starter on a sucky team.

I'm wondering this too.

I was sad when Edge was not renewed (his was a different story, not released, but simply not renewed). But, even though I at the time thought it was just a tad early, I couldn’t argue it that much. But LT… yeah, I totally wonder how much he’s got left. He may have a lot, or he may be running on empty. But it’s an honest question; I don’t recall hearing much out of him the past year or so.

McFarland?

Of course we might have a healthy Bob Sanders for an entire season... when we play Madden

I've always liked LT as a person

even though he plays for the hated Chargers.

Get this, my son – you all know the one – the Chargers’ fan (ugh) wanted his throwback jersey for Christmas. So, I get it (cost a pretty penny, let me tell you) – I didn’t have the heart to tell him that he chose the one player that more than likely wouldn’t be back in 2010. Oh well, at least he didn’t ask for a Rivers, Merriman or Jackson jersey. That would not have happened.

I hope he finds someplace to land where he’s treated well. He has always seemed like a good guy to me.

I'm with ptb

I think it’s a pretty sad day for both LT and the Chargers. I also think that the AFC West should not be excited about this day… the Chargers have now freed up a roster spot to go to a fresh RB who will be better than today’s LT.

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on Feb 22, 2010 5:47 PM EST reply actions

Don't know why

But I’m pretty sad right now. I don’t think his career is already over; in my opinion, he was a victim of the new offensive philosophy applied by Turner, where they focused on passing. So, the whole offense changes: WRs will be more present, RBs will have less snaps and the OL will focus on pass blocking. The OL which allowed him to rush for almost 30 TDs in 2006 didn’t change too much. But he’s no longer their main weapon; and it hurts anyone.

What conforts me right now is the fact that LT was pretty upset with the Chargers. Bad behavior on and off the field, trash talking, character issues, different values… I just hope he finds a good team to set the pace.

Now let the betting begin!

How soon will we see a fanpost seeing the exact same information posted here?

How soon will we see a fanpost with someone posting why we should pick him up?

If I ever see a fanpost re: LT as a Colt

I better see the banhammer just as quick!

Can we ban PFT?

If so, then yes.

I say less than 4 hours

for both.

And, I agree with NYK, get the banhammer out but quick.

IT IS HERE!!!

"It's the greatest job in the world until Peyton comes off the field and you think his thumb might be broken and there's three minutes left in the AFC Championship Game and you're down by three to New England and you haven't taken a snap all year. Yeah, it's a great job until that point." - Jim Sorgi

It's going to be weird seeing the Chargers without LT

and LT donning a new uniform but that’s life.

The question is who will pick up the slack in SD?

Sproles

Is not a everydown back. He’s too small and I can bet he is IRed sometime mid-season.

That's definitely a problem

But unless the Chargers draft a good RB now, they should rely on Sproles.
