Super Bowl XLIV predictions

Colts vs Saints. Many in the media have already gave their picks. Deacon Jones picked the Saints because Freeney won't even play (he prefers Jared Allen over Free, so, just ignore that). Jim Kelly picked the Colts. Obviously people prefer the Saints over the Colts but that really doesn't matter at all. The media will talk and talk but I'm more interested in what all of you guys have to say.

Share your predictions, numbers, MVP candidates, etc. Here's mine:

Colts 38 - Saints 31

MVP candidates:

Peyton Manning. 358 yds, 4 TD passes. No INTs.

Joseph Addai. 101 yds 65 receiving yds. 2 rushing TDs

Gary Brackett. 11 tackles. 2 sacks. 2 INTs

Well, I'm done. I will love Manning destroying the Saints, and while they will play their top game, it won't be enough. It may be tied in the 4th quarter, but a game-winning drive by Peyton will win the Colts their 2nd Super Bowl in Indy.

GO COLTS!

1st Series

Colts come out in I-Formation. Addai gets 12 yards. Off-set I. Addai gets 8 yards. Flea-flicker from Addai, Manning to Garcon for a TD. Saints call a time-out. Greg WIlliams has shit himself and needs to change his pants and adjust his game plan. Colts run their regular offense the rest of the game and blow up NO’s secondary. Drew Brees can’t see over the flailing arms of Muir and tosses 2 INTs.

Colts win by 10.

Speaking of Greg Williams,

The things he said made me mad. If Peyton got wind of them, watch out! You don’t want to EVER make Peyton Manning mad!

What else can he say?

It’s the only thing the Saints D and this ass are good at: being dirty.
Peyton said he would enjoy it. I bet he laughed at that.

oh trust me

he got wind of them

How can you not love a team that does this?

He has heard

and he basically just said. So what? I’m Peyton Manning and I’m the shit. Don’t like it? Then fuck you.

Ok maybe he didn’t say ALL of that, but he was asked about it at Media Day

So, apparently "Adult Language" isn't allowed in sig lines, so I suppose my new sig will be clean and "G" rated so I can openly discuss football with other blogs. Shame on me for not understanding!

Colts have 4th quarter come from behind victory

We fall behind due to an interception and a fumble in the first half. Dwight Freeney enters the game in the 3rd quarter and strip-sacks Brees twice – Brock returns one for a score, Hart scores on the second, running over Sharper who tries to lay him out rather than wrap him up. Powers picks off a late game heave to seal the victory.
MVP – Dwight Freeney, 2 sacks along with 2 FF, 3 tackles, 2 pressures in second half.
Colts 38-35.

I had a dream where Peyton threw 7 TDs

with a perfect QB rating. I’ll go with that, Colts 52-21

I had a dream that I somehow was married to my ex-boyfriend. Woke up sweating.

Why can’t I have dreams like you?

LOL

I had a dream about you, KMR, Spaz, and NYKings playing Euchre which I watched because my mom wanted me to study. It was weird as well.

There was also a Colts related dream that I’m pretty sure was positive… but can’t remember much of it. Just that defense was wrecking some havoc.

by diagenesis on Feb 4, 2010 5:35 PM EST up reply actions

sooooo

who won at Euchre? ‘cause I’ve never played so I have a feeling I’d be crushed

by LovinBlue on Feb 4, 2010 6:11 PM EST up reply actions

Spaz was passing dirty so you decided to stay at home and made KMR go at it alone.

But NYkings decided to call trump and got skunked…

In non Euchre terms, don’t really remember. :)

4 + 2 = 6

6 TD = 36 pts. So they’ll miss 4 PATs?

I assumed that would be confusing

but its either Addai’s 2 TD, or Mannings 4 TD. Sorry about that.

Anybody's game, I think

I honestly have no idea how this game will play out, but here are some stat predictions of my own

COLTS
Manning: 30/44, 343, 3 TDs, 1 INT
Addai: 16 carries, 72 yds, 4 rec, 38 yds
Brown: 10 carries, 38 yds, TD,
Wayne: 6 rec, 81 yds, TD
Clark: 8 rec, 102 yds
Garcon: 7 rec, 75 yds, TD
Collie: 5 rec, 47 yds
Stover: 1/1 FG < 30 yds

SAINTS
Brees: 20/29, 267, 2 TDs
Thomas: 22 carries, 78 yds, TD
Bush: 6 carries, 33 yds, 5 rec, 62 yds
Colston: 8 rec, 77 yds, TD
Henderson: 2 rec, 66 yds
Meachem: 4 rec, 92 yds, TD
Shockey: 6 rec, 32 yds

Okay, so obviously if you do the math, that gives you a score of 31-21 Colts, which is possible, but I think the Saints could easily score a TD (or 2 or 3) more, rushing or receiving, and the colts as well. Hopefully that score works out, but I’m expecting anything.

Meant to have Collie catching that third TD

Also change Henderson to 16 yds and Brees 279 yds- my math sucks today

colts down 42-0

with 3rd quarter ending. Peyton Manning leads a miracolous comeback. Then converts 2 point conversion on final td. Colts win 43-42

You just witnessed a legend above

i don't care for predictions

only results and a win from the colts but either way it’ll be a great game

Wow

The Colts drop 45 and the Saints can only get three scores?

With all of those possessions you’d think the #1 offense could at least get into the thirties with Peyton slashing their D that bad.

I'm sorry. I actually meant to write 55-21.

We’re going to get a couple of extra scores for your whining.

Superbowl for the Ages

1. At least 1 questionable(B.S.) defensive personal foul penalty called against Saints.
2. Saints rush for over 100 yards
3. Brees is MVP
