So I went snowboarding today in PA
It was my first time for real snowboarding. I tried the Wal-Mart stuff before on a small hill, but I went to a “resort” (it wasn’t very resorty) and man I am sore. I think I bruised a rib and tweaked my right knee. Anyway I’m preparing for a blizzard with a 12 pack of Budweiser and at 7 NFL Network is repalying the Colts vs Bears Superbowl.
And damn you LovinBlue, I wanted to be first on my own open thread.

I tried snowboarding once when it was first coming out and picked it up quickly. Then I didn’t do it again for over 10 years. Now I’m not so good – made it down the bunny hill at Heavenly (Tahoe) on my 4th try without falling and declared victory.
How can you not love a team that does this?

I’m a great skier, but can’t do snowboarding. As my friends say, I’ve excellent vertical balance, but horrible horizontal balance. Can’t skateboard, mountainboard, etc.

So my husband is travelling this week
and I was planning to watch the Ravens game Tuesday night and the Jets game tonight. But I never got around to watching the Ravens game (had to watch some movies that I had rented so I could return them), and now I’m afraid that if I watch the either game tonight I might jinx Sunday’s outcome. Am I being superstitious?

So I was talking to someone from Mississippi IRL today
and i told them I wasn’t rooting for the Saints on Sunday and they told me that unless I was from Indiana and a diehard Colt’s fan, then they couldn’t see how anyone could not root for the Saints because of Katrina and how the people of New Orleans deserve this Super Bowl.

So was just reading an article and 4 guys from my Community college just signed D-1 scholorships for football. (one of them a friend of mine)
one is going to New Mexico State, he is a WR with a 40 time clocked in the 4.3’s, 2nd guy is a DE going to North Texas, and the other 2 DL, and TE respectively, both going to Charles Southern.

did you ask the Brock question because of something said on the Saints board? Because I’ll tell you this about Brock: After 2005 the coaches said that on a line with Freeney, Mathis, Reagor, Triplett and Simon that Brock graded out as the best over all defensive linemen on the team. In 2006 after realizing that Mathis was too good to take off the field even on run downs, they made Brock a DT just to keep him on the field. I believe, I could be wrong, but I believe that Brock makes MORE than Mathis. Even if he doesn’t, I could swear his contract was in the 4MM range. In 2009, they invented the rover position for him, allowing him to play all over the field. He may not be top notch, but the coaches love him and they continue to try to find ways to get him on the field.

We need to remember that: Indy traditionally starts big games sort of badly, but then explodes. This replay of the ’06 Superbowl reminds me of this. And we all remember how down in the hole Indy was in the AFCCG that year; the Pats owned a lot of the first half.
And then there’s this year, with the AFCCG’s start against the Jets. It’s probably something to remember this Sunday; I think Indy will start slow as usual. And we’ll see 3,000 people panic on Phil B’s blog 
, with only 3 or 4 of us saying “It’ll be fine”… but seriously, I bet Indy will start slow. It seems to be their grove; go slow, figure the opponent out, then go out like a mushroom cloud and leave ’em dizzy.

The Pats didn’t own a lot of the first half in 2006 AFCCG – they flat out OWNED the first half right up until the last drive. Even then we only got 3 points. They literally had the best possible scenario they could’ve imagined. Sucks for them that they sucked the rest of the way and the Colts owned them from there on.
If it’s raining and the Saints win the toss and Roby/Bush runs one back for a TD, I’ll sit back and enjoy the rest of the game with no worries.

Yea I don't think he broke them, he may have torn or the pectoral muscle between the ribs in that area
But I really doubt based on the way he played (though it was worse) that it was broken rigs. the finger injury and knee maybe effecting him a little more after the wear and tear of the season would make more sense

he did that in 07 ( in the summer when he was going out w. Gisele..not married to her) and took a paycut to get Moss on the team bc Wes and Stallworth were there and they were close to salary cap.

News on the lockout (bad at that)
As I was walking out of the media center this afternoon, I noticed quite a bit of security nearly pushing me out of the way and escorting a short man into the building and up the stairs.
That man may be short but he’s a major power player in the future of the NFL.
DeMaurice Smith, head of the NFL Player’s Association, conducted a press conference this afternoon and painted a bleak picture regarding the possibility of a lockout effectively stopping the games starting in 2011.
“On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s a 14.”
(Note: That question was asked by none other than Chad Ochocinco of OCNN)
Smith also called going back to a salary cap system “virtually impossible” should a new deal not be done by March 5th, the start of a new league year.
In other words, the business of the NFL as we know it will more than likely be completely different one month from today.
Roger Goodell will likely respond at his press conference tomorrow afternoon. I will be in attendance and plan on reporting back in this space immediately following the conclusion.

would hurt the Colts and other mid to small market teams in the long run. I don’t want the NFL to turn into the MLB with the Yankees, Red Sox, and the other big market teams running the show.

there are big restrictions on free agency though
any player the Colts draft would be theirs for 5 years, or 3-4 and they’d get high draft picks from the teams signing them away.
There was also a Philly.com article I posted a while back about financial situations around the league and the Colts have some of the highest profits and lowest debit in the league, even as a mid-market.

I suppose I want to keep it under 2k as that way I’ll upgrade sooner next time? I want a lot of things. It’s a long list. I really wanted to buy a sony, but I want i7 processor and sony doesn’t have any of those yet.
