Interesting tidbit I just found
This isn't exactly news worthy so a fanpost will suffice.
Back in April of 2009 I wrote a breakdown of the Colts' 2009 schedule. I analyzed each game and attempted to predict the record for the Colts this season. Earlier this morning I just happened to remember I made that article and was curious to see what kind of dumb stuff I said. I had a feeling I was pretty close on some of my predicitions and analysis, but to my amazement, I was dead on.
You can see the article here, and if you're interested in wasting a few minutes of your day I'd suggest looking at the last two games on the post. Oddly enough, many of you Colts fans were highly pessimistic concerning the outcomes that I laid out, saying that the Colts winning their first 14 games wouldn't happen, or even going 14-2 wouldn't happen, basically calling me a homer, which is fine. But let me ask you a question, where was your faith back then? Everyone believes now that this Colts team is virtually unbeatable, but back then no one seemed that confident. I'm interested in hearing what your thoughts are on that and why you had a change of heart (if at all) with this team's ability to be dominant.
Lastly, if you pay attention to the comments at the bottom of the article, you'll notice that it is completely void of any 16-0, restgate uproars that became some popular when Caldwell pulled the plug on the Jets game. Interesting.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Wow KR
that is impressive. Nice job
As long as we have Peyton we will always have a chance to win.
"18 is coming"- Ed Reed (FYI, 18 did show up and he did conquer)
"I will be shocked if the New York Jets lose to Indianapolis"-Rex Ryan
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??
Everytime I look at the schedule
I believe the Colts will beat them all cause they can certainly do so. I will look at next season and believe they will end 16-0 (or 14-2, depending on what comes on Week 15)
"We’re only going to score 17 points? haha...OK" - Tom Brady
Cue Twilight Zone Muisc
That was eery. Love the bit about the Colts beating the Pats “in glorious fashion”.

Well, I wasn’t looking for an ego boost but thanks everyone. I was more interested in discussing everyone’s feelings pre and now postseason.
preseason
i thought the colts would go 19-0. technically with our “virtual wins” (thanks kornheiser) we are technically 18-0 ready to go 19-0
thought process has never changed for me. I watched every game knowing we were going to win. even when we were down against the texans and patriots when my family thought I’d be mad and were staying out of my way. I was still sure we were going to win.

I think I was always super bowl hopeful.
However, the journey has exceeded my expectations. It’s been great!

Preseason, I thought we'd go 13-3 or 12-4 again
but I didn’t do a game-by-game analysis to determine who we would beat and who would beat us.
The biggest mental hurdle I crossed this season was not giving up when we were down in the first half, or even late into the 4th quarter. Even though the Colts have had a few dramatic comebacks in the past, this year was the first time that I could watch a game when we were down by 10 or more and not panic. Ok the one exception was the Patriots game, and I still kinda think we escaped with that one.
How can you not love a team that does this?
I thought it would be 13 and 3.
Not a bad guess. I really think the Colts like the challenge of being down. Plus it makes Peyton mad, and when Peyton gets mad, good things happen. Re the Pats game: Melvin Bullit was meant to stop them, and Belichick was meant to be an ass.
"You can't defend the perfect throw, what can I say?" Peyton quoting Marino
"As I grow older, the list of people who can kiss my ass grows longer"-Ancient Hoosier Proverb.
I'm not gonna lie
I was buying some of what the media was selling. I thought we were going to lose our consecutive 12 win seasons run. I did have us pinned at an 11-5 season. Wasn’t so sure about a playoff run. It took about 5 weeks into the season for me to come around to SB contention ideas.
Indianapolis Colts, taking focus away from my DBacks every Sunday.
Holy fucking shit
You must do the same thing later this year. Who would remember this topic? And all those pessimistic people, saying “we’re gonna lose to Cards” or “Brady will pull a blowout from his ass”… I’d accept this coming from a Lions fan, but whatever. The past is the past and we’re too close from a second Lombardi trophy.
Quitters never win, but cheaters sometimes do
As it turns out, im psychic too
Here is what I said
You are 100% right about the Cardinals game. Unless they find a running game, the Cards are playing right into our defenses hands. No way will that mediocre line be able to stop Freeney and Mathis off the edge.
I am teh awesome!
Good job man
That was really impressive.
I thought coming into the season we’d be 13-3 and win the division. I didn’t know which 3 games we’d lose but I felt between having everything wrapped up and just losing (because as Peyton says winning doesn’t happen all the time, it’s just something we’re used to) a few games here and there we’d end up at that but as the season progressed I went beyond that and saw that this team is pretty special. It’s been one helluva season that shall culminate with a Lombardi presentation come Sunday night!
Hey!
All 3 of my statements at the end of that thread were right too!
All Hail the King!
I had similar feelings as you this season. However I had the game at Houston down as an L.
Did Caldwell use this as his plan for the season?
It’s like you wrote the script for the colts. I didn’t read this but would have agreed 100% with your prediction.
Ok Ok
not looking to join this thread, i just couldnt find the nightly “chat” thread you all have. I’ve grown fond of some of you guys (hope you find me acceptable in my new pretty leg warmers) and wanted to bullshit with you all. I’ll be back in a few and hope someone will direct me to the chat you guys generally have.

Man.
You really probably could have won gobs of cash on those predictions.
If you guys want to know what my prediction for the game is you can read my new site which is in my signature.
There's a new blog in town, the 12th HorseMan.
I think the same now as I thought pre-season
This team is good enough to win a Super Bowl if we play to our ability and things go our way.
