Keith Bulluck a Colt Next Year?

Here is a bit of interesting news I found thanks to the hacks good folks at Music City Miracles. According to a report from the Tennessean, Dwight Freeney made a pitch to have Bulluck finish his career here as a Colt. He was quoted as saying:

To have a guy who has the experience that he does around the locker room … that would be a tremendous help

What do you guys make of all this? If there is no cap, money shouldn't be to much of a problem. Plus I think he would be an upgrade over Wheeler, especially in the coverage department. We have taken a few shots at him before, but I think the guy could certainly help bolster the defense if he does indeed come down to Indy.

I might be remembering wrong

but I thought in an uncapped year, which it appears this will be, the top 8 teams can’t sign any free agents, except for replacing players they lose to free agency.

would be good but we can't because of the uncapped year.

(recommend you look over your post at the spelling issues before cass does it lol)

The Horses font feet have cleared the huddle and as time slows it is also time for the back feet to clear and for us to declare victory!!!!! GO COLTS!!!

Bulluck would be a poor fit in Indianapolis. First off, he’s an older player. Second of all, he doesn’t have the sideline to sideline speed required in the Colts D. Thirdly, since when do we raid divisional foes for players? I mean, we kick their butts every year, so why would we want that losing stink in our locker room?

We rise. They fall.

Lets not forget,

Bulluck is coming off of a major knee injury on top of his age…

No Thanks

Probably have to pass on Bulluck. Good player but I honestly do not see Polian and the crew making any major off season moves that involve big name FA’s. Now, that’s a big prediction, huh:)

I say no.

But, I can think of one reason it would be good: it would really piss off the guys at MCM!

Old, busted, big-ticket linebacker with a me-first attitude?

That’s like the OPPOSITE of a potential fit for the Colts.

Colts will lose Hagler to free agency

so they would be eligible to sign Bullock. But they won’t do it. First, he’s not a great fit for the Colts. Two, the Colts will be spending big bucks to resign Bracket so there’s not a lot of “LB money” left. And third, the Colts just don’t sign “big name” free agents unless it’s a dire need (eg Booger for the SB run).

System LB with an injury history

Hagler seems utterly resignable, we already did it once.

If the Colts don't re-sign Hagler

It will be a Freddie Keiaho situation. No one will want him and we will re-sign him.

Whoever gets Hagler

gets a guy who regularly tears something major in the weight room.

Of course having experience helps

But I suspect, at this point in time, Freeney should (and I have no doubt, does) have bigger things on his mind than this.

Someone probably asked him a silly question, he gave a throwaway answer about a player he has no reason to disrespect, so of course some hack blows it up into “Colts to chase Bulluck.”

Nothing to see here.
