Peyton not shaking hands after loss

Saints vs Colts coverage

Star-divide

Ok, enough is enough.  Why is that when we like someone that we give them so many breaks, and not make them be responsibility like every other person.

I think Manning is a great QB, nevertheless, his actions on Sunday are inexcusable.  No matter how angry he was with himself, he still should have shown some diginity and professionalism and shook the hand of the oppposing QBs hand.  This would have shown his real stock, and sealed him in the eyes of everyone that he is the consummate professionalism when losing and winning.

Stop it already with making excuses for him.  This man owes it all the followers and Peyton Manning wanna-bes to conduct himself as a true professional.  His actions on Sunday showed that he can only be professional is when he's winning, and it leaves a sad commentary that he is a truly selfish person, only concerned about himself.

Time to stand up and take the good with the bad, and look, he lived to fight another day.  Make excuses for him, but not everyone is going to give him an excuse for what he did, and neither am I.

To whom much is given, much is required.  And respect and consideration is a two-way street.

What goes around comes around.

go listen to collensworth he put it very well this morning on this subject.

If you think manning did something wrong then get over your self cause he did the same thing about 60 player at least did that same day not to count the hundreds of others in other SB. They are all told to get off the field after a loss especially the SB.

Another thing there are a couple thousand people out there and you expect him to weave though that searching for people to shake hands with?? There is nothing wrong with what he did he left the field and called him up later.

Yea, cause there's no chance Peyton will run into those guys during the offseason, rite?

It’s not like his dad lives in NO, rite?
It’s not like Peyton has spent a bunch of time and money helping with disaster relief and recovery in NO, rite?
Please, you obviously have been a “True Fan” for about 2 days to have that opinion.

This is a joke

Right?

"I definitely believe in destiny, and I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We have been on the other side of this deal probably too many times. I'll address

Rather than be snippy:

Peyton was pivoting to make a play on the ball and Porter. He was hit in the shoulder. That’s a legal block.

One of many trolls who create an account to make a stink.

On the Packers site, someone had made the recommendation that a person ought to have to qualify for a while to make a fanpost. You know, like be a member of the site for a period of time, make a certain number of contributing comments, things like that. Then you know who’s talking. Also, if they are not a Colts fan, they should declare their allegiances in their profile page. It’s cowardly to take a pot shot without giving the target anything to fire back at.

I think that there may be some merit to that idea.

As long as it's a qualifying period

for making posts, not comments.

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Even though the Colts lost, it was a good season. Random facts will resume next week when I recover.

Shaking hands is a media moment

Do the opposing long snappers typically seek each other out and shake hands? No. The chief reason why is because no one cares. This contrived spectacle matters only to ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS and the other national media outlets, because they like pretty picture the faux sportsmanship of running across the field to seek out your opponent paints. It is especially ironic that Peyton Manning, likely more in tune with the NFL’s history and traditions than virtually any other player, is singled out. His post-game comments made clear he would seek out Brees and Payton (and probably unstated other Saints) out, as Brees has already acknowledged he has.

Let’s move on to who the Colts are going to draft, or whether they’ll re-sign Brackett, not this non-story.

The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

I would think a player of Manning's caliber should be one of the first to show some form of sportsmanship.

Gotta love his commercials though.

As a Saints fan (and a Manning fan)...

…it didn’t bother me. Anyone who has competed in anything long enough is going to have those moments. I don’t hold it against him and I don’t see why anyone should.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Thanks.

The Saints fans, the vast majority at least, have been a classy bunch through all of this.

Not a big Manning fan

I think he’s the best QB in the history of the NFL unless he either gets hit or is in a playoff game. He’s the greatest regular season QB in NFL history (Steve Young is second and McNabb is third).

But, seriously. This is such a non-issue, here are some good examples of bad sportsmanship:

Bill Romanowski spitting in J.J. Stokes’ face
T.O. running to the middle of Dallas’ field and spiking the ball after a touch down
Bill Belichek being himself

The field after a Super Bowl is a madhouse, Peyton didn’t need to get caught up in the celebration to show good sportsmanship..but he does need to not blow an otherwise stellar performance with a game losing interception to ever draw comparisons to Johnny U or Joe Montana.

haha

I like the Bill Belichek one

You just witnessed a legend above

THAT WAS WHY HE LOST IN THE FIRST TIME

I saw that in him weeks before the game. That behavior was already in him and that was part of the intangibles that made the SAINTS a better team. Read all my blogs/posts and discover that I have always stated—“What the so-called experts listed as Peyton Manning’s srength are his weaknesses and constitute the intangibles in favor of the SAINTS who relied on the LORD.”

You're not acting very Christian.

“Judge not lest ye be judged,” and all that.

Anonymity breeds inhumanity. In simpler terms, don't be a troll.

I've always liked Tony Dungy's response to similar claims:

“I don’t think God cares about football.”

"I throw, you catch. It's NOT that hard!"

That's why I can't believe in God

Of course we might have a healthy Bob Sanders for an entire season... when we play Madden
