Peyton's Neck Surgery

So, I just found out via Adam Schefter on Twitter (Yes, I follow Adam Schefter of Twitter, thats not that lame is it? LOL) that Peyton underwent neck surgery yesterday in Chicago.

All I heard was the original report and then that the Colts said it wasnt serious and appearently the surgery was ment to relieve pain in his neck caused by a pinched nerve.

Im praying Peyt will recover just fine from the surgery.

Wonder why he went to Chicago for it, I would have been worried the surgeon was like some bitter bears fan

EDIT: Colts.com now has this on the site: This condition has existed intermittently for the past four years, but at no time did it interfere with his training, practice or playing regimen. While it never has affected Peyton’s activity on or off the field, the Colts’ medical staff, after post-playoff examination, thought it best to resolve the situation now. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Fessler in Chicago. Peyton had only an overnight stay in the hospital and is on his way home. All medical personnel involved believe the issue has been resolved. Peyton fully expects to participate in the Colts’ off-season program this Spring.

Okay, so they're jerks

for having him “bothered” off and on for four years and never mentioning it publicly, or they’re jerks for having him on the injury report weekly since high school without him missing a game until his knee is redecorated.

Right now (and I know I am being very petty) I am not a huge fan of either of our team’s injury reports. (then again, who the hell is?)

I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I was just talking about the team warning peytonsthebest personally

you know, since she’s such a fan of Peyton?

It sucks how nobody ever checks there. But I like the link to the twitter page.

As far as the Chicago thing: A pinched nerve in the neck is an interventional radiology procedure and Northwestern has one of the best IR departments around.

sounds like a darned good guess

by LovinBlue on Mar 3, 2010 5:22 PM EST up reply actions

Hmm, it was performed

by a neurosurgeon at Northwestern, so it’s a little more serious than what I first thought it was which was an IR procedure. Not that Northwestern doesn’t have a great neurosurgery program or anything, just that the procedure is a little more serious than what I first thought it was.

it could be

that because he could afford the best, he went to the best… even if it was more “routine”

My fear, though, is that they’ve had to do something to his spine, and that could limit his career by reducing the number of years he can play.

Comforting but

still scared the bejesus out of me, reading the initial headline.

Yeah

I freaked out when I first read about it

So what if Peyton didnt shake Brees' hand after the super bowl. Its better than what I would have done, which is steal the Lombardi trophy and run out of the stadium screaming "The Saints Bribed The Refs!!! Dirty Cheaters!!!"

so your warning is a little too late.

If I had the cash that Peyton has, I’d probably pay to have them surgically taken care of too.
