Daniel Muir and "Mookie" Johnson get 2nd round tenders
The Colts 300lb DT tandem will be back next year or the Colts will be well compensated for them. 2nd round tenders pay 1.684mil, a sizable pay bump for an undrafted rookie picked up off waivers and a late rounder picked off a practice squad.
From the Indy Star
There also was activity among the Colts’ restricted free agents, with second-round tenders placed on left tackle Charlie Johnson, safety Melvin Bullitt and defensive tackles Daniel Muir
and Antonio Johnson.
The story also says that the remaining RFAs (Tyjuan Hagler, Freddy Keiaho and T.J. Rushing) will not be tendered.

Jackson will be chased by Minnesota

Leslie Frazier must have hit it off with Marlin. How does this work, due to the Top 8 rule, can we signed our own non-tendered FAs?
We can sign our own free agents.

Thank you, Chem 116, for teaching me stuff I already learned in high school chemistry. I always enjoy having my time wasted.
I think they pretty much had to do this
I could see not tendering Mookie, but I think they’re right to. Feeling a little less optimistic about Moala now.
Nothing's complicated if you understand it.
I don't think that it is related.
Even if the Colts’ FO expected Moala to improve and start next season, these 2 guys are pretty cheap depth. We could always use good depth.

Good.
The only RFA’s that deserved tenders are getting them.
If Marlin goes to Minnesota, good on him. I’d rather pick up another CB in the draft. Lacey, Powers, and Hayden are good enough for the foreseeable future at the CB position. If depth is absolutely needed, we can always resign Jennings or another comparative player. C-2 is good for CB depth.
53% of statistics are made up on the spot.
Damn it.
Damn, I was hoping nobody else would want Marlin and we could get him back cheap. Guess not. He’ll improve that team by a lot too.

Mock drafts are stupid and pointless.
He might be back.
But he will be useless in 2010. In 2009, it was too early for him, so in 2010, he has to be more careful, and maybe he can come off PUP by midseason. Why would the Vikings carry him like that.
Jackson has had both his knees torn up. That’s tough to come back from. I can’t imagine that he would regain the speed our defense desires. If he has in fact lost the speed of a CB, then he should be converted to safety.

Devin McCourty at No.31
To me, if the Vikes go after and sign Marlin Jackson, it takes one out of the 2 teams – Jets and Vikings, that would be going after Devin McCourty in the first round. If Polian cannot move up to get Brandon Graham, having not tendered Marlin Jackson and Tim Jennings, it is pretty safe to say Devin McCourty of Rutgers is a very good possibility for our first round pick.
