5 years?

Seems kinda long for a player his age….

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Gary, but I hope the Colts didn’t over do it on this one.

Yeah but without knowing the details of the contract, the length might not mean much. Depending on where they put the guaranteed money, it could be one of those deals that is really only 3 or 4 years and it’s practically assured that they’ll either cut or restructure by then. Plus, he’s only 30, so it’s not crazy to see him play effectively into his early/mid 30’s.

P.S. Schefter mentioned the Steelers as another possible destination for MJax. I would hate to see him go to a respected rival. I wish him success and all, but I’d prefer the Vikings, where I won’t be so scared of his team.

LOL

I still think Gary should re-think retaining him as his agent. This negotiation should not have dragged out this long.

Why does it matter?

"It's the greatest job in the world until Peyton comes off the field and you think his thumb might be broken and there's three minutes left in the AFC Championship Game and you're down by three to New England and you haven't taken a snap all year. Yeah, it's a great job until that point." - Jim Sorgi

by gizzardfanny on Mar 5, 2010 10:12 AM EST up reply actions

Why?

Gary got to stay in the city he wanted and I suspect got paid a crap-ton more than he was worth on the open market. I would keep that agent.

They might have been just aruging over the

small details while having the framework already agreed upon.

Aaron Kampman

I would love to see the Colts go after Kampman. Would fit right into the Colts 4-3, coming off an injury so he would prolly be cheap. Attacking the QB is the most important part of the game, and that would be a MONSTER attack..

Kampman

I think he is going to the Seahawks.

isn’t he an UFA? At this point we have near 0 chance of signing any UFAs.

Also just saw a tweet that he’s headed to Philly right now
