With an offensive playmaker added in the first round, Giants move towards their biggest need - the middle of the defense - in the second round. Antonio Pierce getting old, slow, inefficient and away from the team the Giants need to upgrade at middle linebacker. Washington is not McClain (doh!) but he as an athletic LB that fits well in with the Giants.

How will he impact the 2010 Giants?

Washington will likely win the starting Mike spot immediately, but it will depend on the progress on Jonathan Goff. In the worst case scenario, he should get a significantly playing time on passing downs and on special teams.
