Look for Dallas to address the issue of safety now that Ken Hamlin is gone. Backup DB Alan Ball could replace Hamlin, but depth is still needed at this position. Selecting Morgan Burnett would give the Cowboys a FS that would improve the secondary due to his size and speed. He is a solid 2nd round player who is ranked 5th among safeties with his stock rising. Burnett stands 6'1" and weighs 209. His most recent 40 time at his Pro Day was 4.42. He has reliable instincts and can diagnose the play and accelerate to the ball with the versatility to play man and zone coverage. The only negative that he has is in run support. He is able to attack the line of scrimmage but has difficulty with angles to the ball causing him to make drag-down tackles.

Burnett has the ability to make an immediate impact. He can come in and challenge for the FS position. He would fit in nicely with Gerald Sensabaugh playing at the strong safety position.
