This should be interesting. I would like to know how you found out about Landon Donovan's goal in yesterday's match against Algeria, or when you heard about the score changing, or when you heard about the outcome of the match.
For me, I was at work. Since I work in a hospital, I don't get much chance to check the scores. A co-worker named Kyle brought along his iPhone and he and I checked the score periodically. At 88 minutes gone in the match, he and I looked at the score again. Still 0-0. Kyle said "They're just about done," or something like that. A female co-worker named Angelina heard this, and said, "Well, they still did a good job."
A few minutes later, I asked Kyle to check again. When we looked at his iPhone, the score was still 0-0, but within a few seconds, it changed to 1-0 in favor of the USA. He and I immediately began celebrating, and when Angelina entered the small office my group is in, I was saying "THE USA IS GOING TO WIN THE GROUP! THE USA IS GOING TO WIN THE GROUP! THEY SCORED!"
After the match, people were pumping their fists. I hi-fived Kyle, and a Chinese co-worker I work with was jumping up and down with happiness when I told her the USA had won.
To cap it off, a family friend of mine in England emailed me to congratulate me.
But now, let's hear your stories. Where were you and what were you doing when you found out the USA had scored?
