Indy Star: Colts Pursuing FA CBs?
Buried in this Indy Star article on Angerer:
They looked into the possibility of adding experience to their group of young cornerbacks by meeting Thursday with veteran free agents Frank Walker and Deshea Townsend.
The Colts' policy is to not discuss free agents they might be pursuing, but their interest in Walker and Townsend is understandable.
The collection of cornerbacks on the roster includes only three who have appeared in a regular-season game: returning starters Kelvin Hayden and Jerraud Powers, and Jacob Lacey. Powers and Lacey were rookies in 2009.
The likely loss of Thomas exacerbates the situation.
Walker, 28, has appeared in 82 regular-season games, 15 as a starter, since being selected in the sixth round of the 2003 draft by the New York Giants. He spent the past two seasons in Baltimore and started for the Ravens in last season's AFC divisional playoff loss to the Colts.
Townsend, 34, has spent his 12-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has appeared in 183 games, 80 as a starter, and has 21 interceptions.

When you think about it,
they really only need a 1 or 2 year solution. Thomas should be full-speed by next year, and certainly 1 of the rookie CBs will make an impact.

good point
Again, based on the two that were mentioned, Townsend, to me, is the better corner, even at his age. Considering that he will be regulated to nickel or dime, I think its a good move
