For those in central Indiana on Curtis Painter Panic Watch, the only way to judge whether the guy is hapless or hopeful is to see him for three or four series with lots of first-teamers on the field. He was playing with lesser guys against the Niners on Sunday. Relax, for now. Time to worry later. You'll see more of Painter with better players. Then judge.

Another way to judge him:

Watch some other teams pre-season games, see what THEIR back-ups do with lesser guys, and compare them to Painter. That’s what I plan on doing. NFL network shows all the games in August.
Not that I’m going to watch all the games (torture), but I think I’ll check out some of the more interesting match-ups.

Did you see Sorgi's performance tonight?

I’m thinking that won’t necessarily help your spirits

How can you not love a team that does this?

Yep,

That long throw after the half, was unbelievable, the receiver made a sick catch, but still, Sorgi looked pretty good. Touchdown Sorgi!
The hit on Eli made me sick. I don’t like to see a Manning gushing blood.

No

No I don’t want to watch Painter with any players ever. However, I will have to because he will get put in the game. We should have a better backup. I will admit that he is the PERFECT practice team QB (Big, good arm, could do a decent job emulating almost any offense in practice).

Thank you
