Jerraud Powers listed as OUT for tomorrow's preseason game against the Bills in Toronto

Colts corner Jerraud Powers is 'out' for tomorrow's preseason game in Toronto against the Buffalo Bills. Powers is experiencing soreness in the same foot he injured last year.

Looks like we shall see a more of Jacob Lacey against the Bills with a bit of Deshea Townsend, Ray Fisher, and Brandon King sprinkled in.

Pierre Garcon also will not play. Jim Caldwell said he would return "Shortly."

Any word yet on who IS playing?

Obviously anyone with any physiclal ailment, whether an ankle injury like CJ, or if someone cuts themselves shaving, will not be playing much. I am fine with that, as there is obviously no need to risk any injury in meaningless games, and as for Jerraud, we know what he can do. The Bills aren’t exactly a passing game phenom, so I don’t know what the team can gain from lining up Powers to make reads on a team who still can’t decide which quarterback they have sucks least and will start. But I digress….

Any word on guys who sat out last game getting some minutes? I thought i heard Sanders, but not sure. Freeney? McClendon? Frenchy?

+++++ Not Expected to play Thurs Vs Bills +++++

The Colts announced on Wednesday that the following players are not expected to play in Thursday night’s preseason game against Buffalo: TE-Dallas Clark, DE-Keyunta Dawson, G-Kyle DeVan, WR-Pierre Garcon, RB-Mike Hart, OT-Charlie Johnson, DB-Jerraud Powers and C-Jeff Saturday.

Also of note in video 3 things to watch for Coach said they will try & see Devin Moore more in trurn hame to further evaluate what we have, this want meant to be a knock on those frm last week that returned kicks / punts just player evaluation

PS we do know Pierre practiced after missing Sundays game or played catch on sidfelines if remember correct so probaly cautionary as also u note Caldwell says will return shortly

no idea whats with Dawson & Hart

WHAT WORRIES ME IS WHEN CALDWELL NOTES SO & SO LIKE GARCON WILL BE BACK SHORTLY AND ON OTHERS, LIKE CJ FOR EXAMPLE NOT A WORD

Manning better play at least the 1st quarter.

I’m paying decent money to watch this “contest.” Basically just to see 18 in person for the first time. Too bad Powers won’t go.

Watching18 for the first time, you’re in for a treat!

Actually, unless you have a really, really good seat...

… it’s hard to watch a football game in person. The action can be really far away, and if you’re not on a sideline seat, it can be easy to be fooled by line stunts and the like. For some odd reason, whenever I watch pro football in person, I never manage to follow the ball correctly; I’ll either be watching the back only to suddenly catch a glimpse of the ball flying through the air, or conversely I’ll see a wideout make his break, then suddenly let up when the whistle blows because all the action is buried way back near the line of scrimmage, under a pile of defenders. But it’s easy on the TV because the camera operators do the work of tracking the action for you.

Then again, there is something really super cool about just being in that environment. I’ve yet to be to an LOS game, but I’ve been to the old (departed) dome games, and MAN, that place would get rockin’.

Really

I have the opposite reaction. When I’m watching on TV, it all seems so meaningless :P but in some ways, in a stadium it’s easier to comprehend the whole of the action. There’s a lot that happens on the field that doesn’t make it to the broadcast…

you're both right

the technical clarity at home satisfies, but the crowd provides that civic meaningfulness. At home it’s abstracted, rational, and antiseptic; in the arena you get to revel in collective vicarious joy at the expense of another city’s vicarious shame.

Wish I could be both places at once!

Giant replay monitors

Have you been to the new stadium? You get the incomparable atmosphere of being there live, watch the play, then all you need to do is look to one of the corner huge big screen hi-defs
and get the re-plays. Nothin’ like it!

CANT FIND ARTICLE

but believe Peyton said starters will probably stay in longer but didnt know how much, he also commented that Collie in his 2nd year is makling strides and becoming more comfortable platying outside as well,

but a good article are the last 10 paragrapghs from the link below that PEYTON GIVES OPINION < OBSERVATIONS< & WHAT CALDWLL & POLIAN are doing REGARDING the repositioning of the UMP on the offensive side of the line and how things can get " ugly " if the officials cant get it to work as its supposed to be a work in progress according to the officials in a camp meeting.

Peyton is worried its a rule that will affect teams that run the Colt style of offennse and not other teams and thats not fare, also he said the 2nd unit had a problem with the rule during the 1st preseaon game.

Concerning?

This is very concerning to me. I am always weary of lingering injuries from the previous season, especially with a players like Powers.
