Bill Simmons says, "Colts don't have depth"
Really, Bill? Wow.
Look around the 11 minutes mark.

We don't.
No Freeney, no pass rush.
No Manning, no wins.
No Bethea, no other DB can play 16 games.
O-Line depth? Seriously?
Wide receivers, maybe TE we are deep.
Who is deep then?
Lombardi and Simmons are totally wrong. We got deeper this year at DT and DE. NOBODY’S second string O line is worth a shit. Why do you think Painter (and Sorgi) get/got sacked so much, look so much like amateurs out there in the pre season? Richard, Linkenbach, and Pollak, are all serviceable backups. All together they suck, but one of them playing next to Diem or Devan or Saturday is not the end of the world. In fact, you’d be wise to prepare your pessimistic heart for it. We’ve got seriously talented RBs and TEs getting lost in the couch cushions. If the Colts didn’t have depth, as these geniuses surmise, we would never have gotten to the superbowl last year, or win 12 games a year, for that matter. Not only have we always had depth, we’ve got more of it this year. This crap that Lombardi and Simmons pedal about the Colts is kind of like Mike and Mike’s team preview of last week: “conventional wisdom” and hypotheses dreamed up during the off season that cease to be relevant as soon as training camp begins. It’s lazy and wrong and you shouldn’t believe it. Wringing our hands over third string DBs and kick returners proves my point

Simmons doesn't know football
He’s funny (at times) and a die hard NE homer. Those are both fine because he doesn’t try to hide it. But if you actually take his football analysis seriously, you’re looking in the wrong place. He simply doesn’t know enough about teams other than the AFC East. I think those comments would have been justified at one point in the last few years, but they certainly aren’t now.
Now, if he starts talking NBA… Listen. He’s scary good. (Even with his C’s bias.)
Yeah, I'm Shure.
Simmons is the star writer for a company who's name starts with the word "Entertainment"
that’s what he does. He’s a very fun read/listen and his regular podcasts with Aaron Schatz/praise for FO shows he knows good analysis when he sees it, but he’s an entertainer not an analyst.
Choke/Clutch is the fetishization of the small sample size.

We have the deepest WR pool in the NFL
TE is very deep as well.
D-line and LB is deep
-
you can have O-line and DB
-
No team in the NFL is winning with their back-up QB – sorry, just isn’t going to happen. The last time it happaned was Kurt Warner and that is a 1 in a million.
