SB Nation Indiana Editor's Pick
Javarris James to.... New England!!??
Seems James has been signed by the New England Patriots. While Colts administration certainly knows more than we do, it seems almost blasphemous for James to be in a New England uniform. Almost brings a tear to your eye. Here is a link to news from Pats Pulpit.

I just can't believe he ended up there. While James apparently did not impress enough to make our team, it seems he did enough to get him noticed elsewhere. I personally think he had a better preseason than both Mike Hart and Donald Brown, but he is not yet battled tested in the NFL. I just hope Brown and Hart are going to be able to show us something this year behind the pathetic excuse for an offensive line we have. I don't believe it is all o-line or all running back that is the reason for our poor run performance. It think it takes the right combination of both and clearly we have not had it the past several years.

Smart move by James...
The NE backfield is in a state of disarray. Fred Taylor is 600 years old, Sammy Morris is oft-injured (ditto F. Taylor really) and Maroney is just a huge disappointment. Kevin Faulk is their only constant, and a helluva constant at that. J. James is in a much better position to see the field in NE than he is in Indy.

Taylor is only 500 something, no way he's in the 600s
Sammy Morris is only sometimes injured for a part of each season, not “oft”, and Maroney a huge disappointment??? Hardly. He’s only been slightly disappointing. He’s “the stuff”. He said so himself and I believe him. Get you’re facts straight.
Keep the faith!
Taylor is actually only 468
but he just hurt himself between your replies. Maybe next year.
Taylor is such a shame. He really is a great back, but so many injuries for Jax. I remember my roommate talking about Fantasy Football and I asked why he didn’t take Taylor. He’ll get hurt, he says, sure enough, couple games latter he’s out for the season. He’s had a good run recently, but still is scary to count on him week in and week out.

and the media wonders why the Pats will carry 5 backs this year
At least two of them will get injured, most likely the second one goes down a game or two after the first one is out (I’m guessing Taylor first, then Morris.)
Coincidentally or not, all five running backs are playing on the last year of their contracts. I don’t know what Bill’s plan is 2011 – drafting a lead back or appointing another committee – although I wouldn’t mind keeping Kevin Faulk around for one more year.
Keep the faith!
Faulk is going to play
until he’s 75 – the dude is indestructible
How can you not love a team that does this?
Having a strong reaction here--feeling very, very nauseated, irritated, POed, etc.
but fans are always powerless in these matters. Whatever, all the best to Javarris, he’s a good RB and a good Colt for a little while. A productive career could be right around the corner for him.
He had some good runs for us
Reminded me of Edge a little, but without the ability to take a hit. He’d shake, get hit, and go down. He needs to beef up. Till then he’s going to get planted upon first strike.

This is a bummer
I wanted to see more Mike Hart in the preseason to get a better idea how they compare with each other.
"We ARE going to our own private island, Chris: it's called the State Fucking Fair!"
Happy for him
The truth was that he was never going to make it here in Indianapolis, no matter how great the story line could have been. He simply was never good enough to beat out the rest of the group we currently have here. Sure, he could have possibly beat out Mike Hart, but I’m referring to Addai and Brown.
I wish him the very best. I really hate seeing him in a Patriots uniform, but at least he’s in the NFL.
Marima: Maroney has been a HUGE disappointment, almost bust level. He’s never lived up to the potential he showed in college in the NFL. The best and closest comparison to Maroney talent wise is the Colts own Addai, and he’s done more with his career despite playing on a team that is always, always been a pass first group since he came in. Heck, the guy ran for 1000 yards his rookie year off the bench…
