Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Nnamdi Asomugha, please

Due to a bizarre twist in his contract, Nnamdi Asomugha is now an unrestricted free agent.  Read more here.

Obviously, any team would be happy to have his services, and he has a reputation as an intelligent player of great character.  As I figure, the Colts needs sort of go in this order:

1. OT 2. DT 3. S 4. WR

All the same, players like Asomugha don't come along very often.  Likewise, they don't come cheap.  What do people think; will the Colts make a run at Al Davis's former golden boy?

It all depends on what we do with Sanders and Bullitt

I think it is very possible that both will be back next year. Either way NA is not coming here.

Hold your tongue.

Just kidding. But, as I look over the situation more and more I’ve come to the conclusion its probable. Just dump Hayden, Diem, and Sanders, the cap would be freed up enough even if they have the new CBA in place.

the problem is that corner shouldn't be an issue next year

we’ll have Powers back and Tryon was great for this team so he’ll likely be the leading candidate to be other starting CB in ‘11. Lacey and Thomas should be competig for NB and along with all the other “talent” that we’ve had this year play for us at CB, we’ll have enough backups to field an entire team of DBs.

I agree that Hayden is likely gone.

I didn't forget him

I have him competing for NB with Lacey

Bring him here

I wouldn’t mind having Nnamdi Asomugha as a Colt even though I will not hold my breath for him to wear a Colts uniform but just think about how boosted our secondary would be if we had Powers and Asomugha at CB.
