CP7

is fine now and let him play the rest of the season to get experience, if he plays well he can be Peyton’s back-up but he should never be Peyton’s replacement after Peyton retires!!!!! And he cannot be overthrowing wide open receivers like last week, that pass to Garcon would have been a game changer!!!!

TMill is nuts and an insane homer

that’s why us over at hammerandrails love him. with that out of the way, this is a rational piece and for what it’s worth, i vouch for it’s authenticity.

i am firmly in the curtis painter bandwagon, and even should he fall flat on his face on monday, I’ll still like the guy.

after all, i’m a purdue homer, too.

It will be exciting to see what happens

Obviously (for you Caldwell fans) it would be more fun to be baffling some hapless defensive coordinator with Peyton under center, but I dare say it will be fun going into this game with the anticipation of a solid performance by the youngster and seeing how the team responds. I hope he Paints Florida Blue!!

As long as this is a homer post I am responding to - there is no way he breaks Brre's record if he was awful

Is the fundamental talent of his Junior season still there? A lot of naysayers point to him being pulled in his senior season, but he was bothered most of the season by an injury.

I will say that considering he has had three years to learn the offense he has no excuses going into this game.

I hope we all agree he is not the QB of the Colts future

He might as well start the rest of the year and can be Peyton’s back up,, but with this draft or next it is time to find Peyton’s successor and let him learn under Peyton ,, and if CP plays well enough they can trade him for a draft pick,, that said time to get a Colts win- taking way too much abuse from all the boys and girls this year about the Colts

Or entrench him as a solid back up which anyone would now agree is a great necessity

While the bombs are falling, over the loudspeaker the soft clear music...

“We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day, Curtis!!!”

Couldn’t resist when I saw the title of the article.

I am starting the Bandwagon!!!

Robert Griffin III!!! He is fast, accurate, and very smart 3.7 GPA in political science which is not a cupcake major. We won’t lose enough games to get Andrew Luck! But they should have a top 3-4 pick. Peyton Manning is NOT going to play again. Put a statue up in front of the Luke and retire his jersey immediately! But with that injury it would he foolish to risk his long term health. You saw the late hit KC took last week…a hit like that puts PM in a wheelchair! Let’s put trust in out FO and remember Polian has put 7 teams that have played in the SB on the field and turn the page. If the fans clamor for RG3 the FO will have to take notice!

From what I understand about the procedure, he is no more likely to experience lifetime injury than any other player with no surgeries.

I am pretty sure that RB Steve Slaton had very similar surgery which they speculated affected the strength of his grip and led to some of his fumbles. A running back is going to take much more of a beating and I doubt they would even let him play if it was an issue of being paralyzed easier.

The more accurate concern is whether Peyton regains the full response of the nerves and therefore his arm strength. There are two results that would prevent this. One is if the surgery does not fully relived the pinching and resulting inflammation, and the other is if the nerve path has atrophied to the point where it will never fully connect and leave him weak. Either of these could end his career.

Thanks for the clarity.

Although I didn’t literally mean paralysis…I did not have full understanding of the surgery. I still think that he is finished. And I like RG3. I don’t think they will get the first pick as they have too many vets that will keep playing hard. I am not high on Barkley or Jones.
