I don't believe Manning is coming back.  If the organization thought he would be healthy and ready to go in 2012, then why not put him on IR and use the roster spot.  I think it comes down to money.  Think about it.  If Manning or the team announces that his career is done, the Colts lose a HUGE fan base.  Colts don't get many televised games next year, etc. etc.  I think the Colts/Manning wait to make the announcement depending on where they draft.  If it is in the #1 spot, then the Colts faithful will have hope that the next "Manningesque" QB will be directing this franchise for a number of years.  I also think the Colts clean house in the front office if Manning isn't coming back, that's why I don't think we will see any changes until the end of the season.  I wouldn't want to see any changes until then anyways!!!!  I don't think there would be any benefit to changing coaches midstream even though they are doing a piss poor job.  At the very least, this coaching staff ensures a top two pick in the next draft.

With that in mind, and Manning is indeed done, why not put him in the front office.  I would put him in the same position as John Elway.  I think VP of football operations or something like that.  I don't think he is ready to be a head coach but that sure would be interesting.  I don't think it would be wise for the franchise to make a clean break from Manning if they have money in mind.

Also, I don't think Reggie wants to come back if Manning is done, so that should make it a lot easier for fans to accept when old, pricey veterans are cut.  Just my two cents.
