Jeff Saturday calls out Stampede Blue

Statements from center Jeff Saturday of the Indianapolis Colts being "outcoached" as reported on the BigBlueStampede blog in Sunday night's 62-7 loss at New Orleans drew the ire of the veteran, who clarified his comments on Sunday with a jab or two of his own. Saturday made the statements of the Colts being "out-coached" on an Indianapolis radio station, but in the contest of "out-everything else" as well in the wake of one of the worst shellackings in modern NFL history. In a conference call with the Tennessee media, Saturday teed off on the blogger who goes by the handle of "BigBlueShoe" regarding what he felt was taking his comments out of context. "That was ridiculous. You've got a 45-year-old man who lives with his mom, down in his basement, freaking blogging about something that was a direct misquote. It had nothing to do with what I said," Saturday said. "At 62-7, there was no redeeming qualities in the way any of us participated. And this is a team thing, 100 percent. I made it perfectly clear. "Coach Caldwell didn't have on any pads Sunday. We did, and all of us as a team failed to get the job done. I can assure you I don't need the media to clarify what I'm saying. I speak pretty clearly and I was insulted that somebody would do that and try to divide our team and putting things in people's minds that really don't need to be there." At 0-7, the Colts are certainly in dire straits as it is and Saturday simply did not want anyone to have the impression that a player-coach divide is somehow creeping into the equation as well.
