1. Peyton will be on his way to recovery at "decision time". However, not fully recovered. Irsay / Polian / Peyton get together and work out a deal where he gets a new reduced contract for 2 years.....again with some sort of "out" for the Colts in case Peyton is done. Looks something like 2 years $36 million. I know a Dr. who is friends with Peyton's surgeon, said in the original surgery done earlier this year, the doctor went in on the wrong side of the neck (dumbass) and that is why there had to be a second surgery. Dr. said people generally make a full recovery from a surgery like this, that is the likeliest outcome.

2. We take Andrew Luck with #1 pick, tell Luck that we have Peyton for 2 more years at max, and in that time he will learn offense and be our backup. Also, there is a good shot that Peyton does not make it the full 2 years, or is not ready to start in 2012. Either way the job will be his in a few years. Luck accepts the deal (what's his other option...trade to a worse team?)

I think this year is a HUGE blessing in disguise, letting us pick up another franchise QB and some other defensive players in a very strong defensive draft.  I believe we are not as bad as it seems, our QB sucks. Other than that, our D-line is ok (i think when healthy it is ok, will be good next year...Nevis is a stud), our O-line will be better next year with Ben Ij. back, Running backs ok, W/R good, LBs are good, our huge need is secondary and there are some really good CBs available in the draft we can get with the 1st pick in 2nd round. I for one am very hopeful about the future of this franchise.
