Week 14 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update

JACKSONVILLE, FL - DECEMBER 11: Maurice Jones-Drew led all scorers this week by scoring 17% of the his overall total for the year. 4 TDs in one game will do that to you. (Photo by Sam Greenwood/Getty Images)

In the Straight Up contest this week we had a couple of readers go crazy with correct picks. ROC 2 TRE and peytonsforehead both got 15 out 16 games correct. Both of these readers missed a game that EVERYONE missed. The 49ers loss to the Cardinals was missed by every reader. To balance that out every reader got the Packers, Jets and the Lions games correct. Also above 90% correct were wins by the Steelers, Saints, Patriots, Ravens, Tebows Broncos and Seahawks. Overall, readers got 75% of games correct. IN the overall standings, peytonsforehead leads all readers with a 146-62 record.

Readers also had a decent week Against the Spread. As a group we got 57% of the games correct. Pretty good! Tops this week was Cabo Diablo and mgrex03 who both got 12 out of 16 correct. Again, people cleaned up on the Seahawks, Lions and Saints games as over 90% of reads got those games correct. Readers missed the Redskins and Cardinals plus the points most often with only about 15% of those games correct. Overall leader is Spread Eagles at 114-86. Just to show how tough picking against the spread is, there have been 200 games that didn't push so far this year. There are only 15 readers who are better than 500 on the year.

Fantasy news after the jump. Remember you can check out each of the fantasy leagues at http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/stampedeblueleagueX where X is a number between 1 and 13.

Star-divide

This week was the first week of the playoffs in Stampede Blue Fantasy Football. It means the top two teams in each league got a bye to "rest up" and host games this week. Checking in on our highest scorers we jump to league 7 to check in on Maclin on your girl who has scored 1916.4 so far and leads everyone. The only other team over 1900 is darkness from league 2 at 1912.4.

In giving credit to our highest scorers, I also need to call out our lowest scorer. In league 11, The Main Event has only scored 664 points this whole year. The crazy part of the thing is that team has WON 2 GAMES! Don't ask me how, but it has happened.

I passed over consolation games as we are to the season that matters (cue Jim Mora PLAYOFFS?!?!!). In league 5, we saw the closest game of the week. 6th seeded Tebows Missionary Work matched up with the 3rd seed CrazyBlueSniffers. After the first half of the Monday night game, the Tebows had all but given up hope that Romo would cover the 40 points needed to advance. In true Tebow fashion, Tony Romo turns it on late in the game to grab the top QB fantasy scorer of the week with 40.05 points. Only Maurice Jones-Drew scored more with 43.60 points from his 4 TD performance.

Just to show that this really is an "any given Sunday" league, in league 5 and 13 both the 5 and 6 seeds advanced to the next round. Overall, 8 three seeds, 7 four seeds, 5 five seeds and 4 six seeds advanced.

Good luck to all the playoff bound teams.

Let it be known that “the main event” has the his roster set with all colts players. And yes that includes manning. Playing this guy is like getting a bye.

On a side note, I think it would be cool to have something set up at fanduel.com next year. We pick our team weekly and it goes one week at a time.

Thanks again for setting this whole thing up! This is my second year and I enjoy it almost as much as my big money leagues.

Can't believe the game between Muncie and I didn't get any play

We had to have had the highest scoring game of the year and it also happened to be a high stakes playoff game. Our combined score was over 360!
