Another Report Says Peyton Manning Was In Pads Last Week, Throwing To Colts WRs And RBs
Last week, we reported on some credible rumors that Peyton Manning was back in pads and throwing balls to wide receivers. This wasn't done during practice, but was rather part of his ramped up rehab. Later in the week, Colts wide receiver Austin Collie said those rumors weren't true.
Now, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is saying the rumors were indeed true:
PManning worked w WRs and RBs after practice this week, told he had pads on. It was after practice was over, but he's pushing to get back
Makes you wonder if Collie was lying to Indianapolis Star reporter Mike Chappell last week when he said that Peyton throwing to the wideouts 'didn’t happen.' Whether he did or not, the positive here is Peyton is throwing. In pads.
The next step is that he will, hopefully, return to the practice field before the end of the year. If he does not, his future in the NFL will be in doubt.

I Don't Think Collie Was Lying
All Collie said was that Peyton did not throw to Collie and Dallas Clark on Tuesday, a day that the team does not practice. The after practice session that Glazer is reporting could have occurred on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Well -
We all know that Peyton is the consummate competitor. So whether you think he wants to get back on the field to prove we don’t need Andrew Luck, or he just wants to prove that this team IS a 10-win perennial favorite with him as QB, you know he’s going to push himself to get back under center.
We also know that the Colts are not media friendly, so it’s not unthinkable that Collie was asked to lie or be evasive about the status of Peyton Manning.
now you're accusing Collie of being a liar
Will the accusations & recriminations ever stop? This blog is like a bad soap opera.

Seriously BBS I dont get you. You are wondering why Collie “would” lie to the media.
You would think a guy who thinks he has as much knowledge as you do would seperate his hate for the FO to think there is no way in hell they would want it out that Peyton is throwing in pads etc etc.
what do you think the value of that number 1 pick would be if other teams knew he was throwing and getting back to pres surgery form. If there is an impression he is still hurt, amongst the other teams and media, then they will have to pay more to “pry” away the pick.
Ban me if you want…call me a troll but seriously give it up.
Now that 2011 isn't going to be an 0-fer . . .
. . . .what is Caldwell’s status? Polian seemed to pin his survival on whether or not the Colts went winless. For that matter, Is Polian any safer from getting canned by Irsay now?
