Donald Brown has earned the job.

The Colts expected to find a impact player in the 2009 1st Round pick in running-back, Donald Brown. Simply put, he has not been a impact player. Last Sunday, the team had the same goal of Week 1 and that was to win a game without Peyton Manning. Donald Brown, who is usually considered "useless" , shows us he deserves a chance to start with a memorable game. The Colts were 0-13 facing division rival, Titans, with the game on the line the team hands the ball to Donald Brown. He takes it all the way into the end-zone for a amazing 80 yard touchdown to effectively end the end and the Colt's losing streak. According to ESPN, he finished the day with 161 rushing yards, 2 yards receiving, and one touchdown. Factoring out that 80 yard run, He ran for 81 yards on 15 carries leaving his average run of 5.4 yards per attempt. After the jump...more on why he earned the job...

By all means, he has not been consistent with his vision of finding gaps being a huge concern. The last two games should determine if he gets to start alongside either our possible future QB Andrew Luck, another rookie QB,our current franchise QB and GOAT Peyton Manning. Although Joseph Addai was resigned last off-season with the combined dilemna around Manning/Luck, his body's health, and the most important is he doesn't get huge yards per game in a PEYTON-MANNING less year ( Our pass-run may be the same but he doesn't seem to break long runs). If we do get Luck a combo of Carter,Brown seems better for Luck's whole career as both are young and less wear-and-tear compared to Addai. When was the last time Addai, who also was a late first round pick, rush for 100 yards in a regular season game? Addai has not ran for over 90 yards this year the closest being a 86 yard day vs the Steelers. The answer is Week 15 vs the Redskins. Needless, to say Brown should be the featureback unless we can get someone who beats him.
