I am not quite certain why this guy was cut but....

If he is in decent health, he is an above average defensive tackle. He certainly would be an upgrade over Muir. If we can get this guy cheap he would be able to make an immediate impact on our Dline. He is the kind of Nose Tackle I have been wanting this team to get for quite some time. He is very good against the run. The knock on him is that he spends a lot of time on the sidelines huffing and puffing. If he could get the right motivation, like playing next Freeney/Mathis, and the proper coaching like John Teelinck, this is a guy who could ressurect his career.
