TotW: OT's, OT's, and Marvin Harrison

Hey you faithful fans. I love you all. Just saying. Joke time!

Why did the boy drop his ice cream?

He was hit by a bus.

This joke brought to you by Anti-Joke, which I discovered last week. Awesome.

1. As some of you may know, Candlebox and I (major kudos to Candlebox for having the initiative) have decided to host some Open Threads in the fanpost section. The purpose of these open threads is solely for the our interaction as a community of Colts fans. The Open Threads will be there for pretty much any topic, as long as it's appropriate (somewhat). The goal is to promote conversation between members of SB, especially quick back and forths as opposed to a comment every few hours. Please, feel free to participate, especially if its a boring day at work, college, etc. Or if you're just kind of an internet junkie like myself. We'll try and keep them at 5 rec's, so they stay in the FanPosts for a while. The first night (Currently the NFL Draft Talk Thread) went really well, and we hope to see more of it in the future!

2. So I've come to the conclusion that we don't necessarily need to draft an OT in the first round. I know, I know, our line reeeeeeaaaally needs improvement. I was dead set against anything but an OT for a long time. But, the more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that we may not necessarily go that route, nor do we need to.

As long as we draft/acquire ANY lineman that can come in and start, or be a solid insurance policy, I can see Polian go Defense/Skill position in the first 2/3 rounds. And I'll be ok with that. Looking at our line, it projects to be something along these lines (as of now). OTs: Johnson, Link. OGs: McClendon, DeVan, Pollak. C: Saturday. (Starting Rotation)

Add in a solid player there (anywhere really), and our line gets tremendously better. Especially if Pollak plays like he did at the end of the season, and Link/McClendon work out as well as Polian seems to think. We can survive with an OL like that.

3. Marvin Harrison is my favorite football player ever. Close to Manning anyway. He's a Hall-of-Fame worthy receiver, second in my opinion only to Jerry Rice. Anyway, Nate Dunleavy at 18to88.com wrote a great series comparing Harrison to Cris Carter (Peter King often compares the two, saying Harrison won't get in until Carter does). It was a brilliant article, and if you enjoy that type of thing, I'd encourage you to check out the article here.
