2011 NCAA Tournament Second Round Open Thread

Stay connected for news and updates

It's great to be back in Indiana for the best two days of the year...the NCAA Tournament.  The state has four teams in the tournament this year, but only one plays today, and it's early:

  • Thursday 12:40 ET, truTV, Wash. D.C. -- Butler vs. Old Dominion (Tim Brando/Mike Gminski)
  • Friday 1:40 ET, TBS, Chicago -- Notre Dame vs. Akron (Spero Dedes/Bob Wenzel)
  • Friday 7:20 ET, TNT, Chicago -- Purdue vs. St. Peter’s (Spero Dedes/Bob Wenzel)

  • Friday 9:57 ET, truTV, Cleveland -- Syracuse vs. Indiana St. (Gus Johnson/Len Elmore)

Any big upsets you see happening today?  Richmond over Vanderbilt seems like a good one, as does Utah State over Kansas State. Also, look for the name Kenneth Faried, who plays against Louisville today.  He's a double-double machine, and will have to play a monster game for Morehead State to hang with the Cardinals.

I'll also be throwing in my picks throughout the day. Enjoy all the basketball!
