To our loyal readers,
My apologies for not posting for three whole days. It's the longest time we've ever gone, EVER, in not making a post on Stampede Blue. Still, it makes me and the other writers sick that for a three day period, we were dark. Not good. I know many of you log in here two, three, four times a day looking for Colts-related news, info, or commentary. And at a time where the NFL, as we know it, could potentially be dying before our eyes, not having us around to do what we do makes the situation all the more terrible.
So, we apologize.
Truth is, we're just as pissed off at this whole labor conflict as you are. And being pissed off at the NFL makes it hard to write positive stories about it. Heck, even recently, I participated in another group pool interview with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL special counsel Jeff Pash. I sat in on that interview, listened to all my friends and colleagues ask questions of these two men, and the whole time I wondered, 'WTF are we doing this for?'
I was obviously appreciative of any time our friends at the NFL give us with anyone, let alone the commissioner of football, but while sitting there is was difficult not to think of all the silliness that has tainted this labor fight, with much of the blame placed at the feet of both Goodell and Pash.
But, that's still no excuse for not writing. Even the reality of spending Wednesday-Monday at SB Nation Indiana, writing all kinds of NCAA-related stories isn't an excuse. We still should have written something. We should have engaged you in some way.
So, to all of you, my apologies. Thank you for hanging with us as we traverse this complicated and frustrating labor situation coupled with our responsibilities at SB Nation Indiana (which has really taken off as a regional sports site the last few months).
So, on behalf of Matt, Collin, Eric, and David, thanks for sticking with us... and Go Colts!
