Pick made by BlueVol03:
With Castonzo and Pouncey gone, I went with an upgrade on the Defensive Line instead of Offensive Line. Corey Liuget gets off the ball well and can penetrate very well against the run. He's strong enough to bull rush some Offensive Lineman but can also effectively use a swim move to disrupt the running game. He has a good motor and plays through the whistle, often chasing the ball down from behind. He's raw as a pass rusher but can eat up blocks effectively and help stop the run game (Hello Arian, MJD, and Chris Johnson). He is versatile enough to play as either a 3-tech or a 5-tech. Due to his run stopping capabilities, he should find playing time early and possibly take on a starting role toward the end of the season.
Other players considered: Muhhamed Wilkerson, Derrek Sherrod, and Stefen Wisniewski
If Liuget is taken 22nd overall, it'll be the first time since 1976 the Colts have taken a DT in the first round (Ken Novak). Also, he'd be the first DL taken from Illinois since Simeon Rice was taken 3rd overall by the Cardinals in 1996.
