Early thoughts on next years O-line:
Ideally, obviously, Castonzo starts at LT from Day 1...
Hopefully Linkenbach and Ijalana can BOTH be solid options at RT...
That lets C.J. FINALLY slide over to Guard (where we've wanted him all along) but we know he can also backup either Tackle position...
I'm optimistic that McClendon will be the other Guard, but if Link wins the RT spot, then I would be fine with Ijalana (or "Enchilada", which was what my wife thought I said when I told her who our 2nd pick was) in that spot...
Saturday is still the man for now, but I am also a big Pollack fan (one of the few). My hope is that this season he can finally just backup Saturday, and not play beside him...
Even if you assume that guys like Diem, Devan, and Richard are gone next year, which I don't, the Colts still have solid-looking depth all across the line for the first time in ages. I believe the Colts will retain some of them for experience though...
Tackles: Castonzo / Linkenbach / Ijalana / CJ / (maybe Diem?)
Guards: CJ / McClendon / Ijalana / Devan
Centers: Saturday / Pollack / Richard / McClendon(?)
Stick Eldridge next to all that and the hope for drastic, immediate improvement on the O-line may be very realistic.
