Draft winners and losers

By now, we have effectively analysed pretty thoroughly every Colts pick in the draft.  What about the other 31 teams.

Poor showings

Oakland- Al Davis is still a tools guy and this was another draft of reaches and whiffs.  A couple of lineman look like they could maybe turn out to be ok.  No first rounder didn't help, but if you pencil in Seymore it looks a little better.

New England- When compared to other teams it doesn't look bad.  The problem is they had 2 in the first second and third it was a train wreck.  Solder and I Dowling look to be solid picks.  Then they take two running backs and Gamble on Mallett and Cannon.  It could very well work out and they have a good draft.  With the talent and picks, it they could have had a great draft.  There was so much talent available on D and they didn't get one DL or LB, both needs for this team (they did take a late flyer on a rb).  Getting more picks is a good thing only if you use them well.

Carolina- Another underwhelming draft considering they picked pretty high.  Reached badly for Fua and Pilares.  The whole draft basically is a gamble on Newton.

Seattle- An uninspiring effort that saw some borderline reaches.  I don't see anybody who looks to be a starter down the road but Moffett.  I think it's a draft of backups.

Ten/Jax- Not only did they reach for QBs, they pushed good talent such as Castonzo and Amukamara to good teams.  Jax gave up picks for their reach and ignored the DL.  Ten had a much better draft, but was still part of  the chain reaction.

Atl- They went all in on Jones and mortgaged the future.  There are too many things in Jones game for him to be a 100%sure thing.  He better be the next Andre Johnson or this draft is a bust for them.  I'm sure he'll be a good player, but good is not going to be good enough.

Good efforts

Buffalo- Good draft full of good picks.  They didn't panic on a QB and just added talent at good values almost all the way through.

Detroit- I really like the first four picks.  This is a team that just seems to get better every year with solid drafting.

Houston-Good solid draft.  I don't know whether it is enough to solve last years trainwreck, but a positive step forward.

St Louis. -Good picks all the way up and down the draft.  This team is destined to become an offensive juggernaut before long.

NYG- Good draft with some good values.  This is a team that that underplayed last year which will be picked up good, solid draft.
