Gary Brackett on the Lockout and Secret Workouts

Gary Brackett was on 1070 The Fan with JMV talking about the ongoing NFL Lockout and those sneeky, sneeky, super secret workouts some Colts players are participating in.

During the interview Brackett was told that there are people calling in telling them where these secret workouts are taking place, and asked if he could let them in on the secret.  Brackett said:

Nah, if they already called you and told you, there’s no need for me to speak about it, right? Just know that we will be ready next season. Whenever that season is, your favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts, will be ready.

 Good to know.

Brackett was asked if the secret practices are like normal practices, just without the coaching staff.  Brackett responded:

Obviously they’re tougher, just because there’s not a coach at every position telling each individual guy on each individual play what he could’ve done better. It’s just real surface stuff, base stuff, but they’ve been going pretty good though. … Guys have been very helpful leading their respective positions.

Does he think every team has these type of workouts going on, in some respect?

I don’t think all 32 teams are getting together, but obviously a great majority of teams who has great leadership will. … If anything, I think we would have the edge just because our system has been in place for so long. … We have so many great players who really understand the concepts.

Nice to hear that positivity from the defensive captian during this ridiculous work stoppage.  Good to know he feels the Colts "will be ready" and "have the edge" over other teams when the lockout finally ends.
