As announced previously in this space, XFINITY from Comcast has generously agreed to support the best NFL community around -- us! As part of that effort, XFINITY will be sponsoring our Stampede Blue's training camp coverage as well as a variety of special editorial and interactive features on our site between now and the end of the 2011 NFL season.
Colts Training Camp Schedule
Friday, August 12:
8:30 a.m.
So, practice this morning ended (a walkthrough) and the Colts are gearing up for tomorrow night's 8:00 p.m. Eastern preseason game against the Rams in St. Louis. I'll be a guest on 101 ESPN St. Louis tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. Eastern (10:30 a.m. Central) to preview the game.
Yesterday's practice was much more interesting than this morning's. Notes after the jump...
- Jacob Lacey practiced yesterday after an injury scare two days ago where he was carted off the field. He is expected to start against the Rams tonight.
- Lacey's injury was to his Achilles. This is interesting because we've seen nine players end their season so far in training camp with Achilles tears. Jacob might have dodged a big bullet.
- Kevin Thomas looked good yesterday.
- Dan Orlovsky was impressive yesterday. Hit Anthony Gonzalez on on a 30-yarder along right sideline.
- Not practicing Thursday, according to Tom James, were Demario Pressley, Fili Moala, Jamaal Anderson, Ernie Sims, Joe Horn, Ryan Diem, Jamey Richard, Jaimie Thomas, Brody Eldridge, Blair White (PUP), and Peyton Manning (PUP).
I got jealous of other team's fans last night. They got to watch their teams play. Yes, I watched just about all of that crappy Chargers v. Seahawks game... and I LOVED IT!

Chargers/Seahawks
It killed me to see Bob Sanders playing for other team and especially that dreaded #31 number that picked Manning 3 times a few years back.
Also, you said the game “tonight” i thought they played tomorrow??
Anybody else notice Sanders....
Looked significantly smaller? Maybe it was just me, my beverages, my TV, or something of the sorts, but I thought he actually looked skinny.
100% pure speculation, feel free to hate me, but maybe he realized that while steroids made him a great player, they also made him as fragile as a mother f&$@#. So he stopped juicin’, can stay healthy, and just be an average player.
i wouldnt say significantly
i thought he looked leaner but same ol huge bicepts Bob. Hair is a whole lot longer and he’s aged a bit in the face. But hey, us Colts fans hadnt seen him in so long, how many of us do remember how he looks? lol
Almost didn't recognize him
He looked so much older, and that powder-blue head rag did nothing for him.
Sanders
If Bob Sanders actually plays the full season I’m going to be pissed.
