Hi all. I'm a Pats fan here to ask you all a few questions, please answer them the best you can without being hostile.
First off, lets say Manning can come back towards the middle-end of the season, say, week 10-15. Do you think the Colts organization would play him even if it is obvious you won't be making the playoffs? I'm specifically wondering about when we play you - if Manning can go, should we expect that he will?
Secondly, there has been alot of talk about drafting Andrew Luck. Personally, I don't believe that the Colts are that bad, and think there will be at least several teams (Broncos, Dolphins, Bengals, etc) who will probably have a better shot at drafting the heavily-hyped QB. But, should the Colts end up with the #1 pick, do you believe Polian, Caldwell, etc will draft luck? Do you think Luck will be willing to sit and learn for a good 2-3+ years before he actually starts?
Lastly, do you, as Colts fans, think drafting Luck would be a good idea? Manning is arguably the greatest QB in the game at this point, and clearly the strongest player on your team. Is drafting Manning's replacement really a priority over, say, reinforcing the aging receivers or defensive backs? I myself would consider trading a #1 pick to a QB-desperate team for sevearl 1st round picks, and then choose an under-the-radar 2nd-3rd round qb. Studying under Manning should, assuming Manning is as good a teacher as he is a player, turn a 2nd round QB into perhaps a better player then some first rounders. Still, I expect you know your team better then mine, so I'm interested in what you have to say.
Thoughts?
