Poll: Are You Happy The Colts Lost To The Jaguars And Secured The No. 1 Pick In 2012?

Simple question: Are you happy the Colts lost today and secured the No. 1 overall pick? I tweeted earlier that it feels as if the Colts won a playoff game. Is that wrong? Personally, I don't think so. This season has been utter sh*t, and earning the No. 1 pick is the only thing I've really cheered for all year.

How do you feel? Vote away.

I WANT Luck badly...

however, I will never cheer on my team to lose. Can’t do it… bottom line is, I want the Colts to win.

Depends on how you look at it

After this season and the state of the team it’s obvious this team needs a LOT of help. So getting the #1 pick that is as valuable as any pick in a long time, the Colts are actually in a good position to add some serious talent if they do it right. If you are going to suck and needed to address the QB position, this was the year to do it.

However, by getting the #1 pick that obviously means that this was a completely clusterf**k of a season. Not the season any of us expected.

I’m just glad it’s over.

What do I really have left in life but this place? It ain't much of a home, but it's all I got. Well, g******it. I'll be damned if I let some foreign, graffiti writin', soul suckin', son of a bitch in an oversized cowboy hat and boots take my friend's souls and sh** 'em down the visitors toilet!

yes

anyone that says no is either clueless or not a colts fan

by omahacolt on Jan 1, 2012 5:03 PM EST reply actions

actually...

the Colts could have secured the #1 pick with a win and a San Fran loss. But since we’re clueless we’re not supposed to know that!

Give me a break, fans root for their team to win, PERIOD, it’s not their job to worry about draft order, or trade scenarios, that was the front office is paid to do. So shut up and root for your team, that is if you’re a “real” fan!

by James Busch on Jan 1, 2012 6:22 PM EST up reply actions

you are wrong

you root for what is best for the team

if that is a loss then so be it

by omahacolt on Jan 1, 2012 10:55 PM EST up reply actions

If you don't believe in Luck

then losing wasn’t the best for the team.

I for one don’t think he’ll live up to the hype.

by Peter Storgaard on Jan 2, 2012 6:28 AM EST up reply actions

the hype

is overblown. he doesnt have to live up to the hype to be a really good player. and having the 1st pick allows you to trade the pick

winning against the jags would have hurt the team. not helped

by omahacolt on Jan 2, 2012 9:40 AM EST up reply actions

yeah

but the problem is that I don’t think they WILL trade the pick, which means we will pick Luck.
By picking 2nd overall, we would not have to even think about Luck, and we could be concerned about our needs instead.

This discussion is obviously mute, if Peyton isn’t healthy.

Yes.

I was cursing the Jax D on that last drive.

by Joseph* on Jan 1, 2012 5:03 PM EST reply actions

always sucks to see your team lose..

but after a season like this anything short of the 1st overall pick would have been the biggest disappointment

by miketyson on Jan 1, 2012 5:06 PM EST reply actions

2-14 with the number 1 pick

Is so much better than 3-13 with the #2 pick,, Now Colts have the power of the draft and will be getting good players hopefully in every round ,, and let the other teams begging for that pick begin,, will be a lot of offers SB weekend,, IT is all about the future now,, hopefully this was Caldwell’s last game also.

by OBGYNOSUPREME on Jan 1, 2012 5:17 PM EST reply actions

no

because the front office will fuck it up

i don't give autographs

I also want some records back

Manning lost all single season records. I want him back with 40+ TDs, 5000+ yards

by Ty46 on Jan 1, 2012 5:30 PM EST up reply actions

I'll go for that

I would pay Aaron Rodgrs a $100,000 to talk to Luck about learning form someone and then stepping in to be great ,, would love to see Manning win 1 or 2 more SBs then handing off to Luck,, Peyton u know will be more determined than ever when he comes back

by OBGYNOSUPREME on Jan 1, 2012 5:35 PM EST up reply actions

Hey doc, pay me $50,000

And I’ll find the right people who can get Rodgers to do that for you.

Not happy with the loss

But I am happy we have the number 1 pick. As a player I cannot be happy losing ever.

by EuroCap on Jan 1, 2012 5:23 PM EST reply actions

No One wants Colts to lose

and no one wants to lose when you play, BUT this was about the FUTURE,, a BIG difference between the #1 and # 2 pick and the negotiating power it brings ,, THIS WAS A Totally worthless game to win ,, and I am sorry they didn’t play more last stringers to see if they have anyone who can possibly help next year!!! AND am glad COLTS had no AP knee or other injuries the way our luck went this year.

by OBGYNOSUPREME on Jan 1, 2012 5:27 PM EST up reply actions

Yes and No

Given the circumstances on how the season played out, I’m with the #1 pick but it also depends how management handles it. However since week 1 to today’s game, I’ve been rooting for the Colts to win each game. I’m on the bandwagon that sh*t happens for a reason, whether the Colts would have secured the 1st pick or not.

Big difference between rooting for the Colts to lose

and being glad they have the #1 pick. The two do not necessarily go hand in hand.

by clnbailey on Jan 1, 2012 6:22 PM EST reply actions

EXACTLY!!!

I’m pissed the Colts lost today, it means the Jags swept us for the first time since 2002. I HATE THAT! however, I’m consoled by the fact we now have the rights to the #1 draft pick. I have my thoughts what they should do with it, but my thoughts don’t matter. What Polian (or his replacement if he’s let go) thinks about it does! I’ll be watching the next draft a little more closely than drafts past.

by James Busch on Jan 1, 2012 6:28 PM EST up reply actions

I voted yes

for securing the pick although a third of happy for pick sad for loss should be added
