Current front runner for GM? Here's a profile on Grigson. Not much about the people he has drafted, but a good snap shot of who he is. Things I didn't know include that he was originally from Highland, IN and a Purdue Grad.

Just to help you guys compile some background information.

Link.

The former Purdue offensive tackle and 6th round pick of the Bengals in 1995, Grigson (pictured) is an astute evaluator who gets as much satisfaction scouting the Yankee Conference as he does the rugged SEC. He is a firm believer in "eye" confidence and is not swayed by other opinions. His NFL, CFL and Arena league background give him a more varied resume than most. A tireless worker, Grigson should be on every team’s short list of GM candidates. His passion is key to his success.

IMO this sounds like a home run for you guys. Say what you want about the Eagles drafts but the Eagles front office is consistently one of the best in the NFL and if Grigson can help bring some of that to Indy, it’d be fantastic for you. Calculated moves, everything is planned and the back-up plans have back-up plans, a fantastic ability to see the bigger picture and great salary cap management. And there is also aggressiveness in acquiring players that they like. Comes from an organization with great pedigree and standards.

Add in the fact that this guy is an Indiana native and Purdue graduate and this just seems like a perfect fit.

As an NFL talent evaluator for 12 years, 8 of those years his teams have made the playoffs

He was a scout for the Rams and help build their Superbowl winning team (the Greatest Show on Turf). He also was a scout for the Eagles when they went to the Superbowl. I also like the fact he is an Indiana native. I personally like the Ross guy better, but maybe he knocked Jim’s socks off during his interview.

Can he work the cap?

A GM, to be successful in this NFL has to know how to work the cap. The Eagles seem to be one of the better teams when it comes to cap mgt. I hope he learned how they do it.
