Whether you like the Polians, Irsay or Caldwell - or not, what is happening today is what I actually like about the Colts. They are methodical. They try to think things thru, almost to a fault. And that's worked very VERY well for the franchise for over a decade. On the negative side, being methodical also means taking so long to understand the situation with Manning's neck that most of the options were taken (e.g. no Hasselbeck). But as for me, I'd much rather have a team and front office that thinks thru things rather than a knee jerk type organization.
So sure, Spagnolo is gone, Raheem Morris, soon Rex Ryan, maybe Rob Ryan, Jack Del Rio, on and on and on. I would have been truly disappointed if the Colts had cleared the team of coaches and general managers one day after their season ended. I hope you guys would have been as well.
My guess is that things will unfold over the next few weeks. The Colts are intelligently tight lipped about things, much to the dismay of blogs and media alike. But again, I'd rather have a team that doesn't just spew information out constantly, and causes tons of irrelevant speculation.
And frankly, while it makes for bad news, saying "we don't know" when you don't know what's going to happen is an intelligent, albeit it boring, response.
Enjoy the peace and quiet for now. Try to resist the urge to jump at every tidbit of information you might here.
